Stewart Mandel tweet- @slmandel: Worth noting: A&M did not finish last in the SEC in passing defense. That would be the team playing in the BCS title game.
watching this duke offense, will AU be able to slow the game down enough with their run game to negate the FSU offense?

But...auburn has so much to prepare

The question is legit, but I still think this is a kneejerk reaction based on one half of one game.

Well, Texas AM has been shitty on pass d all year. Apparently, so was Auburn.
And Duke doesn't have Kelvin Benjamin.

Pretty much. People are just looking to have something to talk about.
I will say that I trust Ellis Johnson drawing up a defensive gameplan about 1000x over Snyder at A&M.

You'll get yours in a couple of days

AU is a team that goes against conventional wisdom, yardage doesn`t matter, let them have all the yards they want and get the ball in the redzone, AU`s defense becomes much better then. Force a turnover, force a field goal, or get an occasional sack to end a drive… because Gus plans on scoring most every possession many stops aren`t necessary.

Well Texas A&M had more YPG and more PPG than Auburn, yet we're in Pasadena and they're losing the chicken bowl. What's the difference then?

AU allowed UGA to score 21 points mostly on the fly in the 4th quarter!

AU gets sacks, tackles for loss, turnovers and forces field goals to keep yardage from turning into too many points. A big difference from aTm.

should be a great game either way, i'm sure y'all were hearing the same things 3 years ago, even with fairley and the chiz D

on the time note, do yall think time (to prepare) favors defense or offense more?

For auburn it favors our offense since we will be able to work on our passing and trying to implement a bit more passing threat.
For FSU, it favors their defense because they have a month to scheme a way to slow down our option run offense.

Except that FSU players were heavily recruited by the top teams in the SEC as well.

interesting stats:
AU D :
Total fumbles gained : 3
Total INT gained : 13
FSU O :
Total fumbles lost : 4
Total INT lost : 13
if we look at stats, which obviously dont foretell everything, seems like the AU D should get theirs, should make for an offensive battle, coming down to the line of scrimmage IMHO

Auburn has played a lot better passing teams than FSU.
