Is Auburn the worst 10-1 SEC team in history?

Don't get me wrong, being 10-1 in the SEC is elite status. It's like asking who is the worst Hall of Fame MLBer ( Bill Mazeroski?) - it's an incredible accomplishment to even be in the MLB HoF, but sometimes it's fun to wonder who's the worst of them.
But this Auburn team, I sat there in the rain and watched them up close and personal in Tiger Stadium. I felt like they were a team deserving of a rank in the 20-25 range; average to above average SEC but not elite. Their RB's were getting 5-6 yards a pop up the middle but nothing that TCU didn't do against us. The defense looked a little soft up front against the run but had good athletes like AU always does.
I just think this year in the SEC, there is Bama, then there's about 8 teams there are pretty even. Auburn is in that group but has been fortunate to win some close games, such that their record makes them sound better than a typical 10-1 SEC team actually is.

What is up with the rant today and ridiculous historical comparisons? Jesus.

LSU 07 was the worst 10-1 team...they proved it by losing to Arky.

we've improved dramatically since the LSU game
that being said we are weak in the middle of our defense and our passing offense is shaky due to low WR depth and inconsistency at QB. Still though, there have probably been worse 10-1 teams.

I want us to be the worst 13-1 team in history.
I want to win the next 3 on a series of really bad calls by the officials.

I would have to say yes, they lost to LSu for gosh sake.

Most one-dimensional 10-1 team? Sure.
Worst 10-1 team? Meh.
Worst 10-1 team? Meh.

I would rather be the worst 10-1 SEC team in history than be 2011 LSU.

We've never been 10-1, so I don't think I'm at liberty to comment. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

No doubt - that's why they have a loss

In the history of the SEC? No. Pretty sure you guys actually managed to luck into a MNC the year you earned that title. That said, when was the last time you saw a one loss or undefeated SEC team that didn't require some luck to get to that point? Despite what people try to make it seem, Alabama really hasn't been head and shoulders above everyone. They've just had excellent coaching, on field discipline, and great luck to get to the kind of seasons they've had recently.

Only if Mizzou doesn't win this week. Then it will be no contest. Mizzou: worst 10-1 SEC team ever.

Reminds me of '05 Bama. Undefeated, then lost to LSU and AU.
If the other shoe drops on AU, it'll be like that.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha
This thread
1) should embarrass the remaining few sane LSU fans
2) prove that whenever AU has success it is a fluke, cheating or due to 1 player only
ONCE AGAIN PLEASE SEE MY SIG FOR ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS AND OR THOUGHTS
AU is back

The fricking "worst" 10-1 SEC team in history?
Auburn can play football. Worst is not what
I'd call Auburn. Auburn is 10-1 for a damn good reason. THEY CAN PLAY! No excuses. They've played 7 SEC games losing once. Your reasoning is flawed and/or fantasy.

is the worst post I've ever read on this site.
