Is the SEC East really down?

There's been a lot of talk about this being a down year for the East division, especially as a reason for Missouri's success so far, so I decided to look at the last 5 years. Obviously anyone can select specific stats that support any point of view so I stuck with Overall Record, Conference Record, and Rank.
2013 (as of 10/31)
9 Missouri (3-1) (7-1)
14 S Carolina (4-2) (6-2)
---Florida (3-2) (4-3)
---Georgia (3-2) (4-3)
---Tennessee (1-3) (4-4)
---Vanderbilt (1-4) (4-4)
---Kentucky (0-4) (1-6)
2012
5 Georgia (7-1) (12-2)
9 Florida (7-1) (11-2)
8 South Carolina (6-2) (11-2)
23 Vanderbilt (5-3) (9-4)
--- Missouri (2-6) (5-7)
--- Tennessee (1-7) (5-7)
--- Kentucky (0-8) (2-10)
2011
19 Georgia (7-1) (10-4)
9 South Carolina (6-2) (11-2)
--- Florida (3-5) (7-6)
--- Vanderbilt (2-6) (6-7)
--- Kentucky (2-6) (5-7)
--- Tennessee (1-6) (5-7)
2010
22 South Carolina (5-3) (9-5)
--- Florida (4-4) (8-5)
--- Georgia (3-5) (6-7)
--- Tennessee (3-5) (6-7)
--- Kentucky (2-6) (6-7)
--- Vanderbilt (1-7) (2-10)
2009
3 Florida (8-0) (13-1)
--- Georgia (4-4) (8-5)
--- Tennessee (4-4) (7-6)
--- Kentucky (3-5) (7-6)
--- South Carolina (3-5) (7-6)
--- Vanderbilt (0-8) (2-10)
It seems to me this is not a down year at all. It looks like 2012 was the anomaly when the East division had an unusually exceptional year. Thoughts?

East has sucked since Saban made Meyer quit.

This is what everyone wants to see, hang on.
The East is down because the West is sooo good even though it's a one-trick pony. The traditional East powerhouses have been riddled with injuries this year so they're down. Tennessee is doing whatever the frick they want to do.
The East is down, bro.

Do Mizzou fans really go down on other SEC fans in the stadium restrooms when they travel?

Looks to me like the only difference is the name on the jersey. Just because Georgia and Florida are down and someone else is at the top, doesn't mean the division is down. 2013 seems to mirror every year, minus last year when the east had several very good teams

The SEC in general is down. tSEC East is fricking awful.

Yet the SEC East has four teams that would probably win the B1G.
Yet the SEC East is what, 7-0 versus your suckeyes?
Yet the SEC East has more teams ranked in the Top 15 than the entire B1G.
You're right. All of that is funny.

I forgot I said tB1G was better than the SEC, silly me.
But it's cute that you got so butthurt

The East has been down since about 07. There needs to be some coaching transition there (obviously there has been but we're waiting on the transitions to come around in the case of UT and UF).
Georgia is not an 8 win per year program. That program has grown stale.
When one of UT, UGA or UF is not even second in the East race there is something seriously off. Doesn't even make sense really.

Yes. Tennessee is the heaviest anchor.

Also the worst case scenario for the East is occurring with FSU, Clemson and Miami all coming back to life.

The East has been down ever since Mizzou was let in.

I had not thought about this, but I believe you are on target there

SC fan:
we had to play Georgia when they had a couple of less injuries and we had our starting QB. WAH WAH
Oh and we don't have the easiest conference schedule in the SEC just because we have the easiest conference schedule. Wah Wah. (then proceeds to shite his diaper)
