If the East is down, it is has been for years, not just this year and it has nothing to do with injuries.

The east has been down since 2009. That's not that long in the grand scheme of things. The East was the dominant division for a long time.

Injuries had an effect on individual teams this year. UGA and UF weren't elite anyway (both had/have major flaws), but injuries probably did have an effect on the division standings. In order for the East to no longer be considered down, an East team needs to win the SEC again. No guarantee at all that would have happened this year.

Again, do you think the East is up? If so, you don't know much about the history of the SEC.

You don't think injuries affected UF and UG?

Clemson as well. Once Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, and Chad Morris (likely) leave after this season, they're back to square one.
Absolutely. Think of Dabo as Gene Chizik (without the undefeated national championship but with a 70 point beatdown in a BCS bowl) and Chad Morris as Gus Mahzan.

Again, a very valid point....

Which does absolutely nothing to disprove how terrible tSEC East is this season.

Also the worst case scenario for the East is occurring with FSU, Clemson and Miami all coming back to life.

How so? Who gives a rat's arse about any of those three programs and how does it affect the SEC East?

The East has been down since about 07.

WTF? You are totally cut off. I guess the BCS title UF won in 08 after beating Bama and sending them to the Sugar Bowl to get azzwhipped by UTAH is down?

We looked pretty down when Gillislee ran LSU ragged last year and your defense was gassed....and we beat Johnny Boy when we held them Aggies scoreless in second half in their house. The west last year was so stout...except for Arkie, AU and Moo State looked like Moo Manure in its bowl game.

I can concede that tEast is terrible if you'll admit OSU wouldn't finish in the top 2.

The East was horrific in 2010. Other than that, this is almost unquestionably the worst the division has ever been.

The east will return to glory only when its flagship program does the same.

No one has been hurt by the decline of Tennessee football more than Florida and Georgia. Without an elite program to prop the division up in the eyes of outsiders, the division has managed only one national title since 07.

I think they're implying the recruiting battle will be tougher for east teams. Thank goodness we're just pretending to be in the east, I guess.

Tennessee ranged from mediocre to dumpster fire in Fulmer's final four seasons.
