I don't think CNS will run the score up, but with the silliness that is BCS does he have to think about the margin?

I also think Tennessee has improved since that loss and score comparison rarely workout- especially with one data point. I think Tennessee could play well this week, but let's say Bama goes up 38-10 with 8 minutes left.

I cannot envision CNS leaving 1's on the field if Bama is up 28 with 8 minutes to go.

Alabama won't beat UT as bad as Oregon did, and that will be a topic of discussion for the talking heads.

Unfortunate for many reasons:

Third game with a new coaching staff and young players.

First road game of the year.

Distance to Eugene: 2,500 miles
Distance to Tuscaloosa: 315 miles [Less travel lag]

Rivalry game.

I'm always vehemently against comparing results against mutual opponents. Above are just a few reasons why.

Only the ones that want to stir shite for ratings. The rest will see it for exactly what it is. Coach Saban not running up the score as well as Alabama not having an offense that is geared to score 100 points per game.

No. All Alabama has to do is win. And anybody that knows anything about football knows that with the style differences between Alabama and Oregon, Alabama can be just as dominant if not more so without winning by as large of a margin.

Saban does not care what the media will compare. If Bama goes 13-0 they will be in the title game. They could win their last six games by a combined 6 points and they would be in the title game. They lose 1 anywhere and they are out.

UT is a lot different team by the eye test that Oregon ran out of THEIR stadium

It's a rivalry game

Ah, the new obsessed LSU fan rallying cry. If LSU can't be better than Bama, we'll jump onboard with somebody that can!

Bama doesn't have to run up the score but IF:

Bama doesn't win by at least 30, they're not the same Bama as the year's before.

UT sucks.

(but of course, when UT loses to OOC - they suck - when SEC teams lose to UT or play them close - UT is suddenly really great and tough and vastly improved. Never ceases to amaze me - this inbred SEC-homerism logic.)

You don't think a first year coach can get his team to improve during the season? UT is not great, but they are improving just like Bama has improved since the start of the season.

Tennessee is much improved since then but they're still a team Bama should beat by four touchdowns. I just don't see how their offense can score points on Alabama with Worley at QB. Worley has completed 55.8% of his passes for the year. He hasn't completed over 58% of his passes in a game since the first game of the season against Austin Peay. His yards per attempt for the season is 6.18. Tennessee would be lucky to score 10 points on Alabama's D. And their defense isn't that good. They're 76th in total defense, 85th in rushing defense, and 66th in passing defense. Tennessee is a team that national championship caliber teams pummel.

Can't go by score comparisons, usually.

OM beat Texas by 21, who beat Oklahoma by 16. OM > OU by 37?

Saban doesn't give a shite about style points for rankings bullshite. He wants to run his gameplan, and if the score permits, give his backups live gametime action to get them ready for the future.

The silliness of the BCS will have zero impact on Bama playing in the title game. Finish the season 13-0 and they are in like flynn.

Well, a 50+ point shutout isn't running up the score apparently so I don't see Saban running up the score.

Nothing wrong with running up the score, though.

They might be. OU isn't that good this year. They've been struggling against teams like West Virginia and Kansas. A toothless Big 12 is the only reason why they're ranked high in the polls right now.

Winning 3 of the last 4 natty's, blowing out every team in the title games, he doesn't have to prove shite to anyone.

IF Alabama wins it won't be like the Duck-Vol score.

A positive note - at least Auburn beat WSU, another Oregon common opponent. Otherwise it would have been even more ammo for the empty heads on ESPN
