Expect numerous people to come up and tell you that they hope Ole Miss beats the living shite out of Auburn next weekend

Many frat swoops, mullets, and men with pom poms hanging from their back pocket

The part I am talking about is the area near Central High School to the Stadium. Looks very unsafe and rundown.
Get someone to hold your hand next time you walk through there then. And carry a whistle with you in case it gets dark. That or just stay home you puss.

Thanks for the advice, Alabama fans. It's a real shame that so many of the LSU and Auburn types had to come class this thread down.
I look forward to the trip. Hope to have a beer in the quad with some of you.

I'm making my first ever trip to Bryant-Denny on Saturday. What kind of fan interaction should I expect.
Should I wear a hard hat?

Bring some LSU stuff with you just for fun.

Bunch of damn pussies up in here. I went to CHS and used to smoke Kools with the brothers hanging out at that gas station on 10th Ave. That area isn't bad. I can take you to some areas on the west side that'll have you pissing your panties.

Just stay east of 69 and you'll be fine. A friend and I got lost in one of the bad areas once. They looked at us like they've never seen a white person before.

Nothing like TS. Not many people claim BDS to be hostile. I surely don't. Most people will just be milling around the quad, lots of stuff for kids to do but the circus type atmosphere at TS is not even remotely close to what you will see. Most folks at BDS are there for the game. Some schools I honestly believe folks get off more on the tailgating. It's a subdued, kind of almost quiet crowd. The loudest thing you'll hear are Denny Chimes before the game.
You'll have an appreciation of the fans. Nobody bothers you and you can be comfortable. Even Iron Bowls are civil compared to some places. A great place for a visiting fan to come.

I wouldn't say subdued but more relaxed. Tons of people tailgating on the quad. Band playing out there. Lot more rowdy on the strip.

I'm one of the ones that just goes to tailgate and rarely goes to the game. Our tailgating spot is near the strip and the weird thing is we can barely hear the stadium crowd from our spot. Some of that is due to the TV and a small generator sometimes running, but now that BDS is fully enclosed, the sound doesn't travel as well. We used to be able to hear the stadium from my friend's apartment downtown.

The loudest games I've ever been to were in BDS.

Nailed that. BDS is probably the most relaxed SEC venue there is outside of Vandy. Kinda chapped me for the longest time as we really aren't intimidating like the Swamp and not even on the same planet as Death Valley. Can get loud for the Game of Century type atmospheres, but for the most part, it's meh, which is cool in it's own way if you want to enjoy the game and decent fans.
Strip can get a little more crazy with the fratastic fans.

Yeah, the 2003 Oklahoma game and the 2005 Florida game were extremely loud. I think the loudest stadium I've ever experienced was Tiger Stadium in 96. Early in that game they scored a TD that was called back on a penalty, but when they scored I thought the building was going to collapse it was so loud. It was pretty quiet the rest of the game though. I've been back there 3 or 4 times and it's never come close to that sound level, but is still very loud. BHG in Florida was pretty loud in 99, but not as loud as I've heard BDS. JHS got pretty loud in 97 when Scissum fumbled, but again nowhere close to the 2 BDS games I mentioned. But I've also been in BDS when I could have a conversation with someone sitting clear across the field.

Maybe loudest I have heard BDS and I have no clue really why? I guess first big time hookup between Bama and OU. It was Shula's first season and OU was a monster that year.

Because Oklahoma was #1 and we almost won.

It was like someone popped a balloon that bled all the emotion out of that stadium when they ran that fake punt.
