We all know your defense is incredible. We understand how rare it is for Saban to give up 600+ yards. Everyone is taking their shots because frankly its not often anyone moves the ball on you.
Take the joke for what it is, and stop being so insecure.

But (1) I'm not so sure some of the posters are joking and (2) after Saturday I'm a little shellshocked about the defense so I'm, well, a little defensive.

It's amazing how sensitive fans of a team that have won 3/4 can be. You'd think they would be bulletproof.

Seems that this thread was started by an LSU fan being sensitive over Alabama fans being sensitive. Weird.

Alabama and Sabin are feared and respected for one reason, their defense. That game shellshocked a lot of people. Wonder how many debbie cakes it took for Sabin to mellow out.

They have the best coach, some of the best facilities, and a perennial powerhouse on the field, and yet the one consistent characteristic of Bama fans I've noted over many years and many visits to the state is that they love to talk shite until there is a perceived weakness. They are so damn defensive and insecure, it's bizarre.
At a tailgate on Saturday, they were all patting themselves on the back, and when I mentioned that I liked what I saw out of both defenses (as an LSU fan), they got so mad and defensive, I felt like I had to console them and reassure them that they were still the greatest ever.

Like I said, Bama fans.
I've met hundreds over the course of the last 10 years. All different, save for that one characteristic.
I expect awesome message board posters to be the exception, and I'm sure they will tell me so. But in real life, nobody liked talking football when Shula was there, and they love to now, except if there is the potential for a negative about Bama being discussed.
Saban actually reminded me of a typical bama fan in his presser. "I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT OK?!?!"

Why is everyone calling out the defense as a whole. 300 of those yards came from one receiver. This is the first time since Saban first season that he hasn't had a 5 star at corner and it shows.
