I didnt even watch Bama's game but I'll go out on a limb and guess they didn't have 3 of their first 4 red zone possessions end in field goals.
You'd be wrong. Bama had a total of 200 yards of offense.

208 yards of offense

You realize that 3 non-offensive touchdowns take away from opportunities to accumulate yardage? You realize that the game being over by halftime does the same? What about benching your starters before the 4th is even halfway over?
And VT's D is better than TCU's

Who said it was based solely on week one? Thats not the only factor.
What else can you base a power ranking off of , after having played one game? Bama may end up being the champ, but after week one the only way you can say Bama has had a better showing is through bias. Bama had two TDs on offense and zero fgs attempted. Which means Bama rarely got in the redzone. Bama did this against a weak defense.

Yes. This isn't even debatable. This isn't va tech from 2007.

Bama had the ball more than va tech so you can't say Bama didn't have the ball on offense.

I only watched part of the Bama game.
VT had a good game plan for Alabama from what I saw. They kept dropping DB's into the box to take away the run game it seemed like.
I thought their front seven played pretty fricking good too.

So would you rank Mizzou ahead of UGA? After all it's only based on performance and 1-0 is better than 0-1
You take more into account than what little amount we've seen on the field. Thats why theyre called Power Rankings. Otherwise, theyre just standings. Surely you get this

i totally agree with your assessment. I saw the same things except for one
I might give lsu the nod over usc. lsu put up 448 yards ~200 rushing ~200 passing on Patterson's d in cam's first game. I also read that lsu played 8 freshmen. that's stout.

UGA played a legit top 10 team.
Bama didn't. LSU played a top 20 team.
LSU looked better while played a better team. I never said you go soley on w/l.

Pointless conversation. Most teams didn't show 10% of their playbook. SEC overall looks like there is a lot of talent out there again this year. UGA's Gurley and JFF are far and away the Heisman front runners (not counting Clowney).

I disagree. VT's D is not weak by any means. Their O is depeleted, especially WRs, which may hurt them on both sides. But not weak.
I consider (should it be past tense?) TCU's D about equal to VT with the caveat that TCU's is less experienced.

Well clearly I'm an LSU guy- but until someone proves they can knock off Alabama, they're looking down at the rest of us.
USCe looked solid, the way they methodically took UNC apart. I'm impressed by our offense (yes- offense) here in BR.
So for now, I'd have Bama, USCe, LSU.
