Is it possible that Mccarron was only benching 185 when he got to Bama?

They said this several times on ESPN yesterday. I find this hard to believe. I played high school football as a very small school. We did not have a great weight program. And I don't know if anyone on the team that wasn't a freshman was maxing under 200 lbs.

Do you even lift, bro?

I was pumping 150 my sophomore year in High School. Got it up to 260 my junior year

Probably. Have you ever been a tall, skinny guy? I have.

At this point, if I were a Bama fan, I could care less how much he could lift. So he can't lift like a steroid monkey. He wins games and doesn't make mistakes.

I did back then. When I first lifted at 14 I maxed out at about 165. I'm built similar to AJ. Tall and skinny. And I am definitely not one of those people with a bunch of natural strength. By my sophomore year in high school I was benching 215.

Pretty likely. He had zero upperbody developement in those beach pics a few years ago and he is tall and pretty skinny.
Last year he was really skinny too even in the BCS game.
From that pic of him in fan day, his arms looked significantly bigger though. He may have gotten on some juice in the past 6 months or so, who knows and really don't care.

You can probably stop now. Mission accomplished.

It depends. Are you looking for a member of the weight lifting team or an All-American quarterback?

Moses came riding up on a quasar.

Doesn't. Just thought it sounded unbelievably low for anyone that has done any lifting. Especially a blue chip football recruit. QB or not.
Just was curious if anyone else had an opinion.

Yeah, but you can be slim and strong at the same time. I would've thought that if he was part of any kind of weight program with his high school team, that he'd be able to bench at least 200-225.
I was pretty damn slim when I graduated hs. 6'4" 190lbs. But I was benching 315. I promise you I didn't look like I could lift that much.
