Hill vs Davis.

I've always loved Matt Davis, and I think his leadership is unreal, but what I'm hearing is that is going to be Kenny Hill. Trying to get word on when he starts getting first team reps, and I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Hill will throw the ball better most likely. I still think Davis athleticism, if we tailor the offense understanding our strengths and weaknesses, gives us the best chance to win more games. I dunno, I like both

It's amazing. Other than finding out how douchy some people are, we really don't know anything new.

The broker admitting to it and there being a video? That is a new development, imo. That was where I gave up hope. He isn't going to be eligible. We probably haven't even heard the last of this. There will be more evidence somehow.

Shhhh....I'm trying to stick my head in the sand.

I feel like there was more evidence against Cam and he still came out clean, but I would be lying if I said my BAS wasn't flaring up.

Tired of the drama. If he did it, I want him gone so we can move on. If not, somebody better start talking to set the record straight but fast.
Yes, it's "guilty till proven innocent" with me right now.
No, it's not fair.
But JFF hasn't done anything this offseason to merit receiving the benefit of the doubt.

you only record someone without their knowledge for leverage. Suppose KDS lets JFF play. Suppose we go 9-0 to start the season. Now this dirtbag broker drops the the tape along with proof of payment. We are sunk, and the University looks bad for letting JFF play.
He's toxic now, and it's time to move on in a new direction.

That's a lot of assumptions imo. Not saying it won't turn out like this, but it just takes some pretty hardcore BAS to assume he's done already.

Bingo. I don't even want to risk it. Too many people have put too much effort into getting ready for this season for one guy to ruin it all by playing and then being ruled ineligible. Not even worth it to roll the dice at this point IMO unless he is completely exonerated beyond a shadow of a doubt. And soon.

You think so? The guy already recorded one encounter. It's not a stretch to say he recorded the payment portion as well. Why would he do this? To get his hooks into JFF. Yes, it's illegal, but it seems to me entirely plausible and even logical.
He's recorded.
He shows the recording. Why? He's in no legal situation, and he has nothing to gain by doing so. Hell, ESPN said they wouldn't pay for the tape.
Why put your season on the line for a guy who has already shown he's capable of dropping info at the slightest provocation by someone.
It's about risk management at this point.

To try and get money from ESPN.

Wasn't this after they saw it?

Not playing him is putting the season on the line. Riskier NOT to play him until something more substantial comes out.

oh gawd, no you don't. Recording and taking pics of signings are common practice because of authenticity issues. They need proof Manziel signed because it significantly changes the value of the signature to know it isn't a forgery. There are bound to be many of these lying around for this reason.
But this tape also does nothing to prove or disprove any allegations. It simply verifies that Johnny Manziel did in fact sign stuff for this guy. That is not now, nor has it ever been, against any NCAA rule. So there's nothing really to blackmail here with this tape. He either has documentation that he paid Johnny or he doesn't. To this point, nothing indicates that he does. But if he does, Manziel surely knows it but there is no way A&M does.
So with no proof presented, what would we have done wrong by playing him? You simply can't punish someone for being charged with a crime even if you think he probably did it. That's a ridiculously unfair burden to be placed on a 3rd party which is all Texas A&M is in this case. We will undoubtedly cooperate with the NCAA in the investigation but we can't be judged based on evidence we don't have and can't obtain. And if we suspend him without evidence, we are actually exposing ourselves pretty seriously because we would be doing irreparable harm to his future earnings potential.

just so you know, I'm far too conservative to see it that way and run with it.
As corny as it sounds, I do hold the Honor Code in high regard and do my best to live it each day.
It just doesn't pass my own smell test.

I'm just paranoid and gunshy. I wish like hell I could give JFF the benefit of the doubt, but I just can't. Call it BAS, jumping to conclusions, guilt until proven innocence, whatever.
That's my stance until the end of this. I hope to fricking God I'm wrong, and I get heaps of crow upon my plate when this is all over.

Really want to see Hill but I was able to watch him in HS so I'm biased.
