Nice pic of Kyle. Clearest pic yet of what is new and done and what is to be done after this season. That is a monster of a stadium.

That's not even a recent picture of their stadium. The Cardinals recently added "Ballpark Village" across the street from the stadium in left field. It's so cool. You'd shite your pants ToG.

I wish LSU would do something similar

When is south Carolina going to do a major renovation of WB? I have always been impressed by the following and support of the program no matter the record. It seems that with the support they have, they would be able to add another 10,000 seats and fill them easily, and sell premium seats. Any plans in the near future?

There has been major renovations outside the stadium, the surrounding area, and inside the stadium (locker rooms, facilities, etc.), and a new academic center for all of our athletes. It has also gotten a facelift from a purely aesthetic point of view.

There have been talks about adding a 4th upper deck to match the one on the South side but Gamecock fans were more eager for a newly upgraded scoreboard before anything else. The last one was horrendous.

Now that it's up we'll see about any seat expansion.

To add to the garnishment of the new signage being installed to Williams-Brice, we're also in process of constructing the new football outdoor practice fields. These fields are in Gamecock Park in back, and will be beside the planned new indoor practice facility that's been ok'd to move forward. I guess after they finish these they start on the IPF.

I know these new outdoor fields will be ready to go by spring practice next year, but don't know the expected time of completion for the IPF:

This is the architecture's rendering of what the fields will look like once finished. Williams-Brice is in the upper left corner:

There were plans a few years ago to add an upper deck over the student section in the north end zone to basically mirror the south side. Then with the recession and increased TV coverage I guess we thought we probably couldn't fill it consistently. We decided instead to install the huge video board over that end zone and undergo more aesthetic projects for the time being.

This is happening after this season and will really tie the stadium in with the newly upgraded fairgrounds and Gamecock Park right across the street. If you haven't been to WBS since mid 2000s or so you will be surprised how far it's come from the bleak, industrial setting it once was. (These photos came out at different times so there are some differences in design, but it's definitely going to beat the asphalt that's there now)

Reminds me of bricktown at first glance. I realize its not functionally the same, but the look is similar.

2 decks and big brown brick structure in LF.

The old big grass lot (Orange maybe) where the really good tailgaters from E KY set up has now been paved over in time for the fall. Please observe a moment of silence for the passing of the soft grass to fall down on when too much bourbon had been consumed.

That screen is huge but it's so far up that it won't be as effective as a screen half the size in one of the corners.
