Agree with Belle that UK has tempered expectations. Stoops has all but come right out and said that this year will be rough. And we didn't need him to tell us that. It will be painfully obvious right out of the gate.

We do have a right to be optimistic though. We will be able to see how Stoops operates as a head coach on the field and how the coordinators approach the game. We will lose, a lot, but it will be exciting none the less!

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not perfect at everything. I'm less than perfect when it comes to spelling.

This. State fans have shined that turd as long as they could. After this year, they'll see what everyone else has for years.

We all will likely get fooled by great numbers against our defense in practice.

You have a point. Our defense better improve a LOT this year. I'm not accepting any excuses this year. We are not young anymore. We have plenty of experience. We have talent (underdeveloped so far but that should be fixed) and depth on the dline. We are not deep at safety and need good MLB play, but safety and MLB are positions where a good coach can take an athlete and make him a good safety or MLB. We have enough defensive talent for the coaches to work with. If they do not get the job done, it is on them this year.

Hands down Tennessee and Auburn. Both will go 5-7 this year.

Some folks have predicted 8 on our board.

Key word. People can PREDICT what ever they want, so long as their EXPECTATIONS are rational and logical.

When OM fans EXPECT more than 7 wins and we don't get there, it leads to irrational frustration.

When people have irrational frustration, they look for someone to blame for why we lost to teams who were better than us.

When people look for someone to blame because we lost to teams who were better than us, they blame it on the head coach.

When people blame it on the coach, they want him fired.

When they want him fired, I'm forced to snatch up motherfrickers in the Grove who actually believe a 2nd year coaches seat should get hot and pound them like milk fed veal to teach them a lesson about realistic expectations and how booting ANY football coach before they have 5 full season is re-gotdamn-fricking-tarded.

I'm sure there aren't many LSU fans expecting the 8-4 season that is upon them.
