Dear Houston,
Putting aside the fact that you sold me a false bill of goods, and made my life hell, I'd like to thank you anyways for the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Gus
Do you really think it was HDN that got Gus that job? Hell, HDN didn't really want him. It was higher up than HDN.

It's still hilarious that Ole Miss hired Nutt.
And then he didn't do shite except give them an ego for 2 years before destroying their program.

So there's no reason at all for Gus to thank Nutt.

What's really hilarious is how you pop up in every OM or AU thread.

You're arguing with guys who think Gus is a POS for not bitching to the media, but took up for Petrino when we tried to warn them.

whoa, whoa, whoa.
That's some revisionist history. I remember no warnings about Petrino, but lots of pissed off Aubies that wanted to hire Petrino this past winter. Lots.

I thought Gussy was a fricktard long before he crossed your cockholster.

Speaking of revisionist history. There were a couple who wanted him hired, and just as many if not more who called them out on it. Myself included, who said I would never support an AU team led by that sorry sack of shite.

We danced with the Devil and got burned.

It was alot like UT and Kiffen.
But if I'm gonna be honest, and I like to think I am somewhat, people warned us about Chizik but we blindly defended him after 2010.

...except that Petrino's a good coach but gets caught because of his character flaws and Kiffin's an average coach who gets away with his.

It's hard to see a problem sometimes when it's that close. Had Malzahn not gone to stAte, it might have festered for a while. I could sometimes read Malzahn's frustration from his demeanor on the sideline like I could when he was at Arkansas. It wasn't necessarily when his teams were losing either.

Well if it wasn't for that whole fiasco then Nutt might not have been fired, and we wouldn't have gotten ryan mallett, who was a better QB than mustain. I just wish we could have seen the potential of McFadden, jones and hillis in the backfield with mallett, adams, wright and childs in the passing game. Talk about offense.

I agree. ...and that's a good perspective to have on the situation re: the drama.

I'm still trying to figure out why a good portion of Arkansas' fanbase hates Gus Malzahn.

Will the Beilema/Malzahn contest become a reinvention of the FYMF bowl?

Would have love'd to see Carmona playing for the hogs. Know Eddie pretty well. Hell of a kicker. Looks like he may have a decent chance in the NFL tho. Him and Tyler Wilson were in town last week with Ty Storey.

USC was still going to beat you no matter who the coach was.

We would have if it was played on the originally scheduled date.
Just a weird year losing your starting QB and RB to injuries for the first game of the year.

That USC game was like 17-14 at the half wasn't it? and felix jones fumbled 3 times. USC just had our number.
I think we were the last team in the country to force a turnover that year too which was strange
and yeah carmona is a VERY good kicker...uca wouldn't have beaten Mcneese last year without him
