It is an absolute fluke that Saban is even at Alabama.
If the Dolphins sign Brees in '06, Saban may have lasted another year or more in Miami, and then he would have to had to take any college job open.
Classy how he announced he was taking the Miami job ON Christmas Day, after minutes earlier telling local BR and NO news media 'love those Tigers!'
Also it was extremely classy of him to repeatedly tell the media ad nauseum - to the point of anger
"No, I will not be the head coach at Alabama, I don't know how many times I have to tell you, and I'm really getting tired of it." then.....
turn around and announce over the Dolphins adminsitrative building's loud speakers, that he was quitting.

It's trolling when you do it a few times or so...but this guy is literally obsessed with Alabama and post negative about the university whenever he can....but yeah...TROLLLOLOOOLOLLL.

Ignoring that guy...
I couldn't give less of a shite about recruiting anymore. We got a commitment? Great. I'm sure he's awesome at football and perfectly fits the system
We've been favored in every game since the SECCG in 09, right? That's a long time
09 was an awesome season. 11 was terrible. The only close game was a shitfest
I've always like MLB more, but I'm starting to like college basketball more now, which says a lot because the SEC is hard to watch. I've never really liked football the sport. Don't really watch the NFL. I just liked college because it was exciting and I could cheer for UA

all those dark days really made this current run that much better. It hasn't cme close to getting old yet. I stilll get fricking jacked every Saturday. And I never get tired of seeing us skullfrick the likes of UT and AU.
I'm enjoying this ride while it lasts. They don't come often, and they won't last forever.

If you have been a Alabama fan long enough to have endured those years, you appreciate what the Saban years have brought us.
I don't think it's boring to obliterate teams on a regular basis, because it wasn't too long ago that we lost to Mississippi State two years in a row. That's right--Mississippi State. TWO YEARS IN A ROW.
The way I felt leaving Neyland Stadium in 2006, any of the Iron Bowls during Auburn's streak, Starkville in 2007, and the low point--BDS after losing to Louisiana-Monroe, still boils in my mind.
After losing to Auburn in 2010, it reminded me how much schools that get abused by us, throw it in our faces after they beat us.
Because I know what happens when we lose (seriously, Texas A&M is still talking about it for goodness sakes), I will always cherish and be happy with the state of our program. We are in another Bear Bryant like era, and it's fantastic. It won't last forever, and soon you'll ask the oh-so-stupid question, "Do you miss when we beat everyone, all the time?"

I remember leaving Jordan-Hare in 2007 the night of #6 and also our 4th loss in a row after a 6-2 start and thinking not even Nick Saban could fix this shite. It still seems like yesterday. Was not a fun night to be a bama fan in Auburn that night.
Still can't believe DJ dropped that sure thing touchdown which quickly turned into a Powers interception in that game.

I'll admit, it was exciting watching Saban build this program. It's still fun a hell watching our coaches mold these players year after year. Watching them become NFL caliber in a couple of short years is great. Filling up the trophy case is even better.

frick no. You miss losing to UT and AU every year? Not to mention the rest of the SEC schools.

Obviously something in the middle is preferred to losing every game.

Not boring. Don't miss it.
But there is one thing for sure... a horrible time frame like that really galvanizes the fanbase. you lose all of your fair-weather fans, and as a fan yourself... you are carved out of iron when it's all over. it really made this run we're on right now REALLY sweet.
it takes legitimate faith to get through dark ages such as those.

I grew up a Bama fan(my dad is an alum). I shunned them forever for Houston Nutt and the reemergence of OM in 08 for my FR year of college in Oxford. Sucks for me I experienced the bad years without the good years.
frick Saban though. Fresus saves.
