Haven't done a 3-peat yet.

Haven't beaten Auburn or Tennessee by 100 points yet.

We still have many goals to reach.

In all seriousness, I do know what you are saying. Sometimes it feels like almost every game is a no win situation. If Alabama dominates, it's like ho hum, that was expected. If Alabama struggles or actually loses, all hell breaks loose. Can make it harder to enjoy in a way.

However, winning is just always more fun than losing. Period.

I don't want the bad days to return. I'm just acknowledging to everyone else who wants to be at this level that it is not as fun as it might look. Still pretty fun though. When the eventual cycle of college football hits us, it is going to be some truly miserable few seasons. We will be the most spoiled, whiny fans you have ever seen. Think the Ray Perkins era.

struggle may be the wrong word.

let's say Bama goes into a 8 or 9 wins per year cycle. I see that as a legit waypoint.

To even see this being discussed...Wow.

Not at all. However, 2008 was the funnest season. We had watched a give up, no talent, no technique team that amazed me they won as many games as they did. When 2008 rolled around, watching this big, fast team fly around on D, making plays on offense. watching the O-line just move people around. Things had changed and that was so much fun. I love today but the funnest was watching the team being built.

I was at the ULM debacle.

Safe to say I don't miss a single second of that nightmarish era

3 out of 4 national titles is great and I would not trade it for anything, but I think it is spoiling the fan base and taking a lot of the fun out of college football.

For example, remember when we used to go nuts when a guy like Julio Jones, Andre Smith, or hell, even Jimmy Johns committed? Now our entire roster is stacked with 4 and 5 star talent and adding one more to the pile seems like nothing.

Remember when we used to have excitement and buildup to most SEC games because we actually wondered who would win? Now, we have not gone into a single game as an underdog since 2009 Florida. Being an underdog and hoping to take down Goliath is a huge part of the enjoyment of college football. We no longer get to experience that.

Remember when a 10-2 season was a great year? Now we expect nothing less than an SEC and national title every year and anything less is a huge failure.

Being Goliath is certainly fun in its own way, but a small part of me has to admit that I envy the David's of the college football world who get to truly enjoy the ups and downs of a season, just hoping for a star to emerge like Cam Newton, Tyler Wilson, Alshon Jeffery, etc to take them to a great season. Being the Yankees can get a little boring here and there.

Nope.

There's plenty of suspense for me.

Dubose/Fran/Shula/Saban/Bryant/Stallings....it doesn't matter. I enjoy UA football no matter who is on the sideline and no matter the level of success.

Football Saturdays are about seeing old friends, eating good, and drinking too much. The game is just a game.

Not to mention I thought my Ags fricked up the SEC's chances for #7 with the W in BDS.

It took a thousand angels blowing on the collective college football scroatal sac to get Bama back into title contention with the crazy Oregon and K State losses.

If that didn't excite you, nothing will.

Welcome to the new level of major college football. The old days are long gone. Players keep getting bigger stronger and we are seeing a much more balance in college football even though ya'll have won the last 3 out of 4.

I agree with that sentiment over all, but I will say, in this era of dominance, my friends are happier, the pork tastes better, the whiskey flows more freely, the panties drop more easily, the party in general is just more pleasant.

And as I said before, I love sports and one of the main reasons is an appreciation of greatness. Even if a player isn't on your team, your Michael Jordans, Tigers, Leborns, Greg Madduxes, Adrian Petersons, Messi, etc. Seeing somebody perform at that level has always excited me. I love pulling for my teams, but there's just something about watching the best that has always kind of gotten me off.

And to get to experience the convergence of the best with our beloved Crimson Tide has really been special, something I didn't think I'd ever see. And not just winning the 'ship one year either, but a run of dominance the likes of which most fans will never be fortunate enough to see. And to be aware of this all while it's happening. I dunno, it's pretty special to me as a fan.

I'll still party with my friends and family on Saturdays in the fall when we come back down to earth, but I bet we'll spend a lot of that time reflecting on how it was back in 2013. It won't be the same. I'm savoring every minute of it.

That's true. Bama fans were once insufferable on here.

No I don't miss getting pounded at work every day by Florida State and Florida fans.

LIES!

In our defense, everyone else egged it on. And, I'd say LSU fans were always worse than us.

We went through this in 69 and 70. 6-5 seasons and it seemed we were losing steam. Along comes the wishbone and Ken Donahue's new defensive philosophy. We go to the coliseum and beat SC and set the 70's in motion as one of the 2 or 3 greatest dynasty's ever. I remember sitting in BDS in 2003 and 2004 and watching AU and LSU just do what they wanted. It was miserable but makes you appreciate today. Heck I remember a game against LaTech when we almost left at halftime because we were down like 17 points. Tim Rattay, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are still the best 3 QB's I ever saw against us in person. The only 3 we ever played where I thought, we can't stop them.

No, I prefer it this way. That's probably why I like Super Teams in the NBA. I don't wanna see parity, I wanna see dominance.
