But it´s not really the same thing at all. Tennessee was a powerhouse in the ´90s, and they probably will be again someday. Football is cyclical. There have been years in the 2000s when Florida was not good at all. If in two years Tennessee is good and Florida is hot garbage, do you think Les Miles and LSU fans are going to still be complaining about the schedule? Of course not.

The schedule makers should strive for fairness as best they can at any point in time. That relative schedules may have been fairer in the past, or may be fairer in the future, really has nothing to do with the present clear imbalance.

I'm sure schedules will change if we expand to 16 but who knows if and when that will happen

Slive said on the radio a few weeks ago in Birmingham that he doesn't want to expand any more. He said 12 is perfect, 14 is as close as we can get right now, and 16 is too many.

Life's just not fair.

IMO, I don't think it's fair to high school athletes that Mike Slive placed signing restrictions on SEC football programs at 25 signees a year. Just because of fricking Houston Nutt.

IIRC the previous limit was 27? Now there are 28 high school players that won't get the opportunity to play SEC football. That's just not fair to the kids that have a dream to play in the best conference in the country.

Oh and Miles and all of LSU are pussies.

So let me get this straight. Slive goes to Saban and ask him if he would like to play on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Saban says no thanks and Slive sticks it to us again and says ya'll are playing Arkansas again. Yes you right, Miles and the LSU fans are pussies.

Since Bama administration and fans have clearly stated that strength of schedule doesn't matter, just win the games on your schedule...

Can we please get Boise St in the BCS Final already? I would love to see a Boise St vs Louisville final.

Just win the games on your schedule baby!

I agree with Less. The only way LSU has a real shot at winning a NC again is for the SEC to make yearly schedules trying to predict how good all 14 teams will be and then make a fair and balanced schedule.

frickin pussies.

I wish we played UF and UGA next year, but LSU knows they cant play with them.

Why? Alabama can't even beat all the good teams in the western division, Florida and Georgia would be way too tough.

Unlike many unfair aspects of life, something can be done to try to make the schedules more balanced at any point in time.

Do you really think LSU "wants out" of the UF game? Is that what you think the end game is here?

I'm sure not all LSU fans want to drop the game, but your AD did state that LSU and UF were interested in dropping the game (even though Florida sources disputed the claim that UF was interested in dropping the game)

quote:

I, along with every other LSU fan I know, would be livid if we dropped the UF game every year. That's not the point.

What is the point specifically? It's one thing to say things aren't fair, but how would you change it?

I don't you can disagree that LSU's schedule has gotten unfair? Playing UF and UG, with Bama and TAMU every year is just lopsided difficulty. LSU fans have a fair gripe.

Yea sure they do this year. But your not going to be playing UGA every year. I don't get why all of the sudden this is a huge problem that needs to be fixed immediately to be "fair".

For the love of God, let LSU out of the UF game, let everyone else keep their permanents, then maybe we can stop talking about this

The only way to accomplish that is to let everybody keep their desired permanent matchups each and every year, but not count them towards the divisional titles.

That way, all the divisional games count and one cross-divisional game that fairly rotates opponents counts.

LSU still plays Florida, but any competitive disparity is automatically prevented now and in the future, even when Tennessee becomes a perennial power along with Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Miss. St., Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

Just don't try holding your breath for those outcomes to cycle back.

I don't see that happening. I think either all conference games will count or only division games will count.
