Do you enjoy having a SEC-E game as a neutral site every year? Tell me about it.
Cons - takes the game away from 2 great CFB venues. Robs fans of a home game every other year. Game always in FL for UGA.
Pros - it has a cool nickname?
Asking because Ags don't like the idea of playing Arkansas in Dallas every year. It was ok as a non-con but not so much as a conference game

Love it, don't want to change it. End of story.

The area is conducive to a great little party around the game especially with UGA planning its fall break around it so you can go to the coast for half the week before. The stadium is ok, but at least it is open air. I HATE domes for college football--it is just so wrong in my eyes.
I am not sure how Dallas would be for tailgating and it doesn't have that beach low-stress vibe.
There are certainly cons- especially for UGA season ticket holders that have been stuck with a pretty lackluster home schedule the past few years with both Auburn and Tennessee so down.

Anyone who thinks it should be moved is a pussy. It's truly one of the greatest traditions in all of college football. To my knowledge it's one of only 2 recurring neutral site games that splits the fans 50/50.
It's not just a game, it's an event. Georgia fans start pulling into the area on Tuesday. Hotel people have told me that UGA/UF weekend is bigger and crazier than when Jax hosted the super bowl. Saint Simons, Jekyll, St. Augustine, Jacksonville, etc are all completely filled with UGA and UF fans for 3-5 days. The landing on Friday and Saturday is insane, and probably one of the crazier party scenes in CFB.
It's tradition. It's been that way every year since 1933 (except during 2 years of stadium renovation). As mentioned, you sacrifice playing at Sanford/BHG, but Jacksonville is better. Not on its own, but for this game there's no better setting.
And you may frown on playing in Dallas every year, but you can't even compare the 2. Sure Dallas's stadium is nicer, but it's still Dallas instead of the beach. I'm sure if aTm and Arkansas had a setting like This every year you'd reconsider.

I knew the frat beach video would get posted before long

Texas/OU is the obvious other one but A&M/Arkansas in Jerryworld and maybe USC/UCLA in the Rose Bowl?
I don't know. Just guessing.
And I obviously know TWLOCP is a huge deal. Just didn't know if fans hated robbing the series of the swamp and Sanford
Edit for stadium name slip up

UCLA plays their home games in the Rose Bowl. That is a regular season home game.
I am not a huge fan of Jacksonville, but it is a much better locale than Gainesville which apart from Payne's Prairie is just ugh....

Do they get 50/50 seating? I don't know.

First of all the swamp and BHG are the same place. Second, hell no nobody hates it. The only people that care are a)losers who think where the game is played has some bearing on the outcome [ie, we lose because the game is in florida] b)old folks who don't want to drive down there.
Everyone else, UGA and UF fans alike, love it and wouldn't change it for anything.

It was 3 years, currently on a 2 year break, then back to it for at least 7 years. It's on 10 year contracts.
I hope we grow to love it like TWLOCP or the RRS

Definitely aren't being robbed. UGA/FL is an event. It's the weekend of Fall break, where UGA gets that Friday off to drive down to SSI/Jax for the weekend. Our students and fans wouldn't trade it for anything.

Ole Miss and State played in Jackson for nearly 20 years.
I really liked it mainly because it meant we didn't have to go to Starkville, and it kept them out of Oxford.
Jackie Sherrill lobbied for the game to be returned to campus in '91.
Ole Miss was 14-4 in those games.

It's the 15,000 students partying at Frat Beach on St. Simon's Island starting on Thursday thru Fri. night. The 1000 UGA & UF Alumni that party & play in the 2 day, 4 course GA-Fla Alumni Charity Tournament on Thur-Fri on Jekyll Island. The ten's of thousands of UGA fans who take over every condo & every beach on St. Simon's, Jekyll, Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, Sea Island etc...etc... starting on Tue. of game week....
Partying in RV City that opens up Sun. before game week. Nightly huge parties at Jacksonville Landing. The 100's of UGA fans who line Airport Rd. on Thur. afternoon to party, cheer & welcome the team to Jax. as the team buses leave the Airport. The massive tailgating scene on gameday on the banks of the St. Johns river with 45,000 UGA fans & 45,000 Fla fans partying & jawing at each other...
I could go on but to paraphrase a famous quote the great Larry Munson... I think you "Get The Picture"...

It is so much more than just a football game and I think there are very small minorities on both sides that what it moved to home and home. I look forward to WLOCP week all year long.

I wouldn't trade that game or weekend for a damn thing in the world. Anyone who argues against it jut doesn't understand or hasn't been doing it right.
Posted on 5/19/13 at 11:27 am to bgator85
Honestly, it is pure unadulterated bliss until you see the team buses pull into town and it's like the mood of the party scene stops on a dime. Things get tense, serious. My hair stands on end. You know that in a couple of hours nearly 100,000 inside the stadium and thousands more around those two states are about to be in gut-wrenching agony, the payoff for which is one of the better feelings you will ever have. There is nothing quite as sweet as marching down the stadium ramps and into the Jacksonville night with your bulldog or gator brethren and letting the whole fricking world know that you are on top of the world.
It's just unique. Nothing else like it.

i won't try to paint a better picture than everyone else already had but i wouldn't change GA/FLA for the world. one of the greatest parts of our rivalry and being a fan of either school. it's a weekend of weekends that is really more like a week. those who want to change it either have never been or have some kind of miserable bug up their arse.

Now stop talking to me, Gator scum

Georgia fans have certainly changed their tune now that they've won the last two.
