East Carolina grad and fan here.

If the SEC wants a piece of the North Carolina television market for the SEC network then it should consider East Carolina. There is significant money to be made to add the North Carolina market and as we already know, the ACC schools are locked up now and will not leave.

I am not holding my breath on this but you have to see how things work out in the long term.

Why? NC State would be a much better addition than ECU.

This addition isn't going to improve your OP any.

Diluting the quality/competition of our conference doesn't sound appealing to me. Being the "long-term" conference bitch shouldn't sound appealing to you.

The SEC will want to add a school whose football team will be able to survive in conference and whose basketball and baseball teams are NCAA Tournament-caliber. Even with SEC money & facilities and improved recruiting, ECU still wouldn't be able to meet those standards.

Ok. It is always nice to have someone in the discussion that does not know anything about the subjects being discussed.
No point in discussing this really since it was discussed yesterday.

SEC is #1 or #2 in every market they enter. ECU is at least #4 behind UNC, NCST, and Duke. Unless ECU overtakes these schools they are not in the discussion. If you want to plead your case try the Big 12 as they take lower market share schools. Baylor is #4 and TCU is #5 in the TX market so.

If ECU can become #1 or #2 in NC then come back and make your case.

ps, never use the bleacher report to support your cause or you instantly lose all credibility.

No but you should consider banning yourself.

No. NC State remains a better choice even with the GOR. Until you can create a preponderance of evidence suggesting that ECU will become a better media draw than state or North Carolina, you are stuck in neutral.

There is no need to rush and add a team if its a bad fit. None at all. You are thinking next 5 years and should be thinking next 50.

East Carolina? What the hell is East Carolina?

So yeah, you'd be like school #20 we'd consider.

Oh yeah, Bleacher Report, the worst sports site on the entire planet. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can call themselves a reporter on that website.

No. I noticed that thread and posted on it.

So you posted in a thread on this very same thing, but started a new one a day or two later. Why? So you could link a BR article on the same subject? You probably wrote that shite and are looking for some backdoor way to get your views up.

No. We already have a directional Carolina school, why should we get another? It'd be better to pick up a flagship school for Carolina, like Clemson.

Hell to the MF NO

They've got hot girls, and it's a fun party school. But as far as athletics that's laughable to even consider them.

I like you guys b/c you are Pirates.

I personally would not mind ECU if the SEC decideds they want to grow a brand but I think y'all would face a ton of opposition.
