Where would he rank all-time among SEC Coaches?
Would you consider one National Title at South Carolina more impressive than Saban's current stint at Alabama?

I have a better question. Would you consider Spurriers time at South Carolina better than his stint at Florida?

If he wins a title at USCe...best coach to ever work in the SEC.

Better? No. Less SEC Championships.
More impressive? Yes.

Considering SC has less than a fourth of Florida's population, and is a (distant?) second to Clemson in football history...a case could be made.

Considering I like Spurrier and dislike Saban, yes.

Definitely #1 and I guess so.

I of course would want to say no, but I would think so. He has made South Carolina a real threat. So, yes. Though LSU wasn't that great either before Saban got there.

Spurrier will never win a National Championship at South Carolina.

Duh, I guess so since that would give him two at two different schools. Saban only has four at two different schools. Nice job.

No. Because one title at S.Car. Isn't better than 3/4, and the run Saban is on isn't over

I would say not better than the current stint of saban. i mean 3/4 in this day and age is miraculous. however. i think it would be in the top 3 of coaching accomplishments in the sec of all time.

Spurrier has done a very good job at South Carolina, yet it still baffles me he hasn't been able to field a great quarterback. Phil Petty is still the best QB they have had in the last 20 years.

True but (and I'll get a lot of flack for this) at UF much of the success was due to UF simply outrunning everyone else. This had a lot to do with the NFL stint not working out...you're not outrunning anyone. At SCar he's doesn't have all those athletes so success has been the more traditional running and good D. Is that a fair point?

If Saban went to South Carolina when spurrier did he would have a more impressive résumé while being there. Spurrier is nothing close to Saban.
