Spurrier has used one player to gain success. USCe is a joke without Marcus Lattimore.
Oh goodness, its this guy again. Him and deeprig.

His worst mistake was going to the Redskins. He could have been one of the best ever down at UF.
He already is the best UF coach ever.

Where would he rank all-time among SEC Coaches?

Alongside Bear Bryant but in reverse and a half step back

Bear Bryant won a MNC @ Kentucky before winning them at Alabama. He took a school with no football history and won

Spurrier has done the same thing at South Carolina who was even worse at football than Kentucky.

The big difference is the time Spurrier spent in the USFL and NFL from giving him more MNC's while Bryant was at Bama for a longer and interrupted period. Spurrier also had less to work with than the old days of 4 deep "walk ons" that made the old teams so hard to beat. Scholarship and team limits means less concentration of talent across the country.

How you figure that? Urban Meyer turned Florida into a superpower (well, until Nick Saban came along) and got 2 championships in 3 years. He also reeled in THE best player in Florida history and created the winningest class in the SEC history books. Which was broken like 3 years later. By nick Saban. I think?

Hell, they claimed Lance Armstrong's vacated titles.

Would have been funny had it not been said by a Tennessee fan. They have more bullshiz titles than Alabama does.

Because SOS put Florida on the map.

Without him, Florida isn't an elite program and Meyer probably ends up coaching Notre Dame instead.

Zook took them straight off Urban Meyer did the same thing Spurrier did in 1/10 the time. And beat the sheep shite out of people doing it. 2008, after Florida got beat by the Rebels, they were unstoppable. If you adjust Nebraska in 1995 for inflation, FLorida 2008 would beat those guys by 4+ touchdowns. Urban Meyer did things Spurrier could never dream of.

How young are you? Are you saying Florida wasn't a superpower in the '90s? Spurrier built up UF from basically nothing. They had one SEC title before SOS. He literally changed the way the SEC played football. 90% of Gator fans would say the OBC>CUM.

(well, until Nick Saban came along)
Saban has nothing to do with the success or potential lack thereof at UF. They just had an 11-2 season and are preseason top 10 team next year.

Tebow would have been the best player at almost any school.

I would credit this to the amount of games being played now. Back in the 90s they played one less game. If you want to be impressed, just look at Spurrier's year by year record at UF. Even Saban went 7-6 once.

Be fair, it was Charlie Pell and Galen Hall that put the Gators to the point where Spurrier could take them to the promised land. His time at South Carolina was not as well paved and more like a dirt road to success.

I am still in debate on Meyer. he has coached in the SEC so what happens if he meets Alabama or a top SEC team and he gets rolled like Tressell did at Ohio State? Those wins with the Gators will look lees like him and more like the school / conference.
