At the time we were coming off a 7-6 season. And were only ranked 12 because we beat a vastly overrated Clemson team. Georgia was widely considered the best team in the country and a sure bet to win the NC.

it was the most surprising win that I can think of. There was a lot of talk about UGA being deadly and we werent supposed to win that game.

If they "should have" won that game then we "should have" won last year by at least 10. Check the boxscore it was pretty lopsided.

Agreed

The better team doesn't always win.

I just don't subscribe to that philosophy absent some kind of really absurd or ridiculous brain fart at the very end of the game or something. Most of the time the winning team does what they have to do to win the game.

Good choices.

01 Tennessee is up there as well, considering we had lost 9 of the last 10 to Tennessee and hadn't won in Knoxville since 1980.

They were a top 10 team that went on to win the East, but that game has historical significance.

It's called a winner's attitude. An A&M fan wouldn't understand.

no. That game was about which team could shite their pants more. It was sad. 5 missed FGs where all FGs missed were due to penalties or flat out blown assignments after getting deep into opponent's territory. One team was playing "not to lose" but did, the other was just there, with immense talent, and a dumbass of a coach who lives by winning (and losing) by being the most confusing guy on the planet.

I dread the day LSU hires an actual football coach.

I'm not sure you really understand the game of football that well if that's what you think.

There's too many to pick from, but I'd probably lean to Notre Dame in Jackson, MS in 1977. We were the only team that beat them and they won the NC that year.

1990 Holiday Bowl. It's not so much a surprise that we won, but how we completely and totally annihilated a BYU team that, according to Lavell Edwards, was offended that they were even on the same field as a lowly A&M team.

Final Score: A&M 65, #9 BYU 14 (2 separated shoulders for Heisman Winner Ty Detmer)

Probably 2000 against Georgia. We had just broken our 0-21 losing streak and UGA had Quincy Carter who was supposed to be awesome...lol.

Recently I'd say the 2008 UF and TT games, nobody thought we had a chance in either one.
