Worst defense in SEC history?

I know Alabama has had a couple where it seemed like the defense was butter being cut through like a knife. 2003 comes to mind more often than not. I think that's probably the worst defense we have had in a very long time.
However...I don't think anything matches the suck that was the 2012 Tennessee Volunteers defense.

LSU 08 was pretty bad, and by pretty bad, I mean really bad. Which is frustrating because we had a decent amount of talent on that side of the ball. A lot of it was scheme, which we figured out when we hired Chavis and he pretty much rectified the situation over night.

Auburn 2012.
I only watched the Iron Bowl and game vs. A&M this year.
A&M didn't punt till 1 minute left in the third w/ their third string QB in.

2012 Auburn had a bad defense, but they pale in comparison to Tennessee's. Teams scored 340 points on Auburn's defense in 2012. Points scored against Tennessee's defense - 428.

I think our 2012 edition takes it - with Sal Sunseri as Most Valuable Sucker

UT 2012. Only team to ever give up 37+ points to 7 straight SEC opponents. Also, they gave up 48 points to Troy.

Tennessee D was the worst of all time.

The AU/LSU game is the one thing that doesn't make the AU 2012 defense look as bad UT's. That was their one game that they played up to.

Sunseri was trying to run a defense that he didn't have the personnel to do and only 1 offseason to implement it. The transition to a 3-4 is already hard enough but attempting to run it with the wrong personnel is just suicide.

LSU's O is horrible. With an above average O, LSU would have 1-2 more NC under Miles.

The 2012 Auburn defense was one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. Ever.

No, Arkansas getting Wilson knocked out had a lot to do with the outcome of that game. That game wasn't all on the Arkansas defense. UT's defense, on the other hand was historically bad in 2012.

It's also a coach's job to realize what his personnel is and adapt accordingly. Wilcox did it extremely well. Sunseri had essentially the same talent, minus Malik Jackson, and dropped nearly 100 spots in points given up per game.
And realize, they ran nearly as much nickel this year as they did a base 3-4. Sunseri is just a fricking joke when it comes down to it.
