What's up with that schedule?... the OOC is pretty weak... no USA, no ACC teams like GT, one game against Troy... there's not one decent OOC series at all.
Which is probably a good thing if we want any chance at making regionals this year
Or hell, even the SEC tourney

RPI and SOS play a role in being selected... but I hear you. Losing the opening series last year to a mediocre Mizzou team really set the tone for disappointing season.
I just want to see us be fundamentally sound... I don't think that's too much to ask. If we lose, don't have it be because of 5 errors, stupid baserunning, etc.

Sacrifice you have to make to give your young and inexperienced pitching staff a chance to grow into their roles. Just makes SEC play that much more crucial

Thank the Lord we miss a few of the big dogs this year

Yeah we miss USCe and UK but we also lose UT off the schedule so it evened out.

How's the SECrOT plaid fight going? Has Chicken weighed in yet?

It got veto'd despite overwhelming support of the House of Representatives and the begrudging support of the Senate.

We're trying to get as many wins as possible before conference play.

I went to the first game Saturday morning. Rocky definitely didn't have his best stuff. But just like Koger he battled through it and didn't put us in a hole. That is a good sign in that when our pitchers had so so days they didn't fold and yield like 8 runs.
Hitting wise this lineup is potent. Burgreen has started strong and it seems Tella, Cooper, and Tomscha are producing RBIs like we hoped they would. I thought we did a good job of working counts and making their pitchers throw a lot of pitches.
Defensively Glevenyak is still a gaping hole. Just makes too many errors on routine plays. I would not be surprised to see him move to a DH position later in the year if his defense continues the way it has
Overall I was happy with what I saw. The bullpen has been as good as advertised so far just hope our starters pick it up a bit. There is a lot of pop in this lineup and I think you will see more HRs this season and hopefully more runs period.
Hopefully we finish this series right and start the year with a sweep!

So Middle Tennessee State is up next. They are (2-2) this season: won a series against Ball State 2-1, then lost to Austin Peay in a single game.
Do we know anything else about these guys?
We should win right?

I think so. Hopefully the weather doesn't spoil the game.

Any of you baseball nuts going to the game at 4? If so, I might need a couple of you to help me out with a game story I have to do for class today.

I'm glad I made the decision to wait head over there until it stopped raining

Headed to the park for two games today against MTSU and CofC. Let's get two W's and keep this train moving!
