I use to dip Skoal but recently been going with Redman, Grizzly or Longhorn. The last 2 cans of Skoal I have bought were terrible. Did not taste like it use to nor did it have that old familiar smell. Have they changed something? If so it sucks now.

Dipped a can a day my first 2 years of college. Dipped on and off the last several years. Right now I'm 3.5 weeks tobacco free.
Soooo basically I can't help ya! Sorry.

It gets better. Just don't give in. I enjoyed chewing/dipping, but it was a bitch to have that monkey on your back and not able to satisfy it at times. Plus, I was spending $80 a month on something that wasn't really getting me anywhere, just keeping me from jonesing.

When it hit $5 a can I said I'd quit. Nope, did happen. Red seal wintergreen fine cut it is. .3 oz more , cheaper, and better quality than skoal.

I dip about once a week. Used to be every day. Don't really need it anymore.

Been dipping Skoal for 20+ years. Have tried the generics and just doesn't do the trick for me. It's a disgusting habit but one that is hard as hell to break. I once quit for almost a year...just ran out and didn't buy any to replace it. It was so easy I tricked myself into believing I could quit anytime with relative ease so when hunting season rolled around I picked up the habit again. That was in 2001 and haven't quit since.

Harder to quit dipping than smoking?

I haven't dipped in over a month. Hasn't really bothered me. I doubt I ever pick it up again very heavily. It gets annoying when in situations where it's not socially acceptable and the price for a can of cope is just too damn high.

I'll dip Skoal if that's all that's available.. I prefer Copenhagen Wintergreen pouches... delicious

MLB has a former player tour spring practices around the country, giving first hand insight into what dipping does to you. He has no mouth, his throat cancer having completely eaten it away. And he's 43 yrs old.
