The extended Manziel family has a "colorful" history. To say that great grandpa "setup" the family so that they would all be rich today is a stretch. Not saying that Johnny did anything wrong here, but he does seem to be popping up everywhere nowdays in a rather glorified fashion.
As for his relatives, google is your friend.

Nah, only a couple of Manziels have "color" in their history.
But it is a lot of color

johnny football better be glad that he isn't black or the press would really be trying to rip him.

You are wrong. The seats he was in weren't even close to that.

Well it's only $12,423 per seat for an entire season so face value of the tickets in question would be $376.45 per ticket.

Don't think A&M cheated with Johnny. Dude was a 3 star w/ only one legitimate Texas university offer.

Anyone in East Texas knows who the Manziel family is... Hell, there was a newspaper article a month or so ago with Johnny's Grandpa talking about buying him a new car to keep him focused or something.
Dude's family has some MAJOR money. Which is the perfect storm for A&M - what are the chances you see Lebron or Megan Fox at an A&M game next year? Probably pretty good since Jason Cook posts on TexAgs.

You dont get it.
this is not about his recruitment which I am sure went fine. It is about getting impermissable benefits that the NCAA deems to be inappropriate for an amateur athlete.
Why are they inappropriate? Not sure. He is a celebrity now and people will want to get close to him.
He just needs to learn ot not be so visible. But that is hard to do in Texas, especially when your sitting courtside at the Mavs-Heat game. And getting invites to the locker rooms to hang with the players.

So youve got MAJOR money if your grandpa offers to buy you a car to stay focused?
haha.
Do you still ride horses to work/school???
and no, Megan Fox is not going to an ATM game next year. Neither is Lebron. haha.

Not all college football players come from an economically disadvantaged background. A&M has many that did not. I'm sure Vandy has many that did not.
I can see where a person from Louisiana might have trouble comprehending a kid being able to attend a pro sporting event, courtside, without some fan footing the bill.
This kid literally grew up on a golf course. He's a scratch golfer. I'm sure had he not won the Heisman, no attention would have been paid to him watching a Mavs game.
How do you not see this?
