This year was going to be the perfect storm for a down season across the board. And it begins with the coaching situation in the conference IMO. You have several brand new coaches at respective schools, as well as several coaches who may be on their way out. It's going to take a couple seasons for those situations to normalize.
I think it rebounds as those new guys get their legs in a couple seasons. But it could be ugly in the meantime.

Can't agree more, but I'm not ready to write this season off just yet. We could still get several teams in the tournament.

Elite means you have some long term history. I am not denying South Carolina baseball the way I would not deny Florida football but both are younger in success to others in the conference.
