The only advantage that you have is that Bama has never won a BCS Championship in white jerseys. That's it.

Winning as we have in overtime and with goal line stands has built a confidence and a brotherhood on this ND team that few teams ever develop. I don't think 'Bama has developed this quality this year: winning has been relatively easy for them.
Georgia, A&M (down 20, fighting back, almost winning), and LSU say otherwise.
Don't dismiss Bama's championship mentality.

We've been criticized this year by some talking head fools for winning ugly and winning narrowly. Ironically, I think our close wins (Purdue, UM, BYU, Stanford, Pitt) will prove one of our biggest strengths against 'Bama. They had only two close games they won: LSU and GA.
quote:If you want to make the argument that LSU losing the game at the end was more of a result of their mistakes over our guys making plays, well we won't ever agree on that one. As for the UGA game, I'm not sure how you can say they lost it when our guy made a play at the end of the game which directly resulted in them losing. But go on...
In fact, they didn't win them as much as the other team lost. In that regard they were like our Pitt game (and we only had one Pitt game; they had two).
quote:Didn't we just talk about winning narrowly?

quote:These games also let our guys who don't play as much get experience in the event of injuries. See: our WR corp this year.
This important intangible doesn't get built in the process of demolishing the likes of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Florida Atlantic Owls or Western Carolina Catamounts (who were beaten more like catamites 49-0 by the mighty 'Bama).
quote:Debatable. We have played in a ton of big games not only this year but in previous years so the moment will not be too big for our guys. We do not know how Notre Dame will respond to being on the biggest stage in college football since they haven't been in a big bowl game since 2006 when they were demolished by LSU.
In short, I think we have more "character" than the Tide does.
quote:LSU
We will be the best defensive team they've played all year.
quote:AJ leads the nation in passing efficiency and has shown that he can come up big in big moments. He also rarely make mistakes. Golsen has improved no doubt, but he does not hold a candle to AJ who has been recognized nationally for his achievements.
We also have a much, much better offense now than we did during the first half of the year. Everett has developed and improved more than any of us could have imagined. I think he is a much better QB than their guy and he will prove one of the measures of our strength in this game.
quote:That is your right as a fan. I disagree, but I suppose we will see.
I'm usually more cynical than optimistic, but not about this team and not about this game. We're going to be the 2012 CFB National Champions. It's '73 all over again!
quote:No mention of any position group or match-up other than saying your QB is better than the 3rd team AP All-American.
It'll be close, but that's to our advantage.

Purdue, UM, BYU, Stanford, Pitt.
LSU, Georgia.
Some of these are not like the others. That just cracked me up. A close win v LSU/Georgia is 10,486 times more impressive than the close win vs the high school teams ND managed to beat (plus the ref v Stanford).

You forgot to include Michigan in the list of demolished teams.
Yes, the same Michigan you guys had a hell of a time with...

ND Advantages over Alabama

GO IRISH! BEAT 'BAMA!

la-de-da
I would like to see the Irish beat Bama. I'd also like to go back in time and invest in apple. Neither will happen.

Did the OP just compare Pitt to LSU and Georgia?

In fact, Notre Dame didn't win those games against Pitt and Stanford as much as the refs gave it to them. Literally.

Alabama destroys the teams they are supposed to destroy. Notre dame needs the waning seconds of games and blatant no-calls to beat the teams they are supposed to destroy.

You think the Pitt players don't think they gave you that game. Come on man!

Playing in the last 3 of 4 BCSCGs builds a "brotherhood".
And I'm sorry but that "character" y'all have is about to get stomped on.

I wonder if Irish Jacky knows you snatched this from irishenvy?

ND thinks that their character will help them win the NCG. Manti Te'o relied on character to win the heisman. Tide will Roll. /thread

If ND is within one score of bama with two minutes left, I agree that ND may have an edge due to the close games and believing they will win.
However, I do not think it is a one score game with under 2 minutes left.
Go Irish, but bama by 10 is my call.

I've seen a lot of ND fans claim this so called "brotherhood" is your advantage. Show me a brotherhood that prevents Warmack from steamrolling a LB when he pulls and I might be inclined to agree.

TLDR
I hate Bama but they are going to beat the crap out of ND. I watched ND play plenty this year. They suck arse and benefitted from playing some really crappy teams. Bama is going to take them to the woodshed.
