Why is Bama(ga) going to NCG again? BCS computers clearly favor Florida.

Human polls are really, really important. They'll overtake Fla in the computers if they beat an 11-win team

I agree with your result but not with your reasoning.

I agree with the idea that Florida is more deserving, but the Human polls account for 2/3 of the total.

My guess would be because UA is ranked #2 in the BCS. That's just a hunch though.

Saban Clause... anything to make LSU fans whine more than normal is invoked and promoted by the media.

Because the winner of that game would have beaten the loser. Florida doesn't pass the eyeball test. Your butthurt is showing.

Had Notre Dame lost to USC, Florida *would* be going to the national championship.

Well if computers say so...

This. I'm fine with a team that finished second in it's division making the NCG along with the SEC Champion, but over the SEC champion? I mean c'mon man.

I thought LSU fans swore to the logic that you have to win your conference, or at least your division, anyway to play for it all? Or does the LSU stance change from year to year based on the best way to relieve their butthurt over Alabama?

For years, #1 and #2 rarely played each other, and you'd have situations where the top 5 teams were playing in 4 different bowls.
Then they created the BCS to at least pit the top two teams against each other. To make up for situations where a team was ridiculously overrated in the rankings, the computer polls were included to balance that out.
Then 2003 happened, and everyone "just knew" that Southern Cal was the best team, including both polls. However, their strength of schedule was so radically weaker than LSU and Oklahoma, that USC was left out of the BCS despite the polls having them #1. Outraged, they changed the system to have the computers only 1/3 of the equation, reducing their influence.
Tweak away.

tigbit, the bcs is made up of 2/3 human votes. You clearly don't know how it works. Which is why your asking this dumb question I take it.

Biggest problem with the voting portions of the BCS. Florida looks like crap winning but they win. Same for Notre Dame. But they're viewed completely different.

It's all a conspiracy. The NCAA and BCS are vetoing the computers this year.

I think you're right about that. This would have been butthurt on a national scale and pretty humorous. But also the way it should have been, UF having wins over LSU, A&M, SCar and FSU.
