Has this been discussed? Seems like i would allow for a lot of undying rivalries AU/UA TN/AL UGA/AU to remain intact
Alabama and Auburn to East
Vandy and Missouri to West

Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Carolina in the east...yeah, that's fair.
Congrats LSU for winning the west 25 of the next 30 years.

Great off season thread topic.

Bama, Auburn, LSU, Arky(make no mistake, they will emerge once again), Miss State, and A&M in the west?
Which is fair, here?

The AD's at the last meeting seemed to be adamant about keeping those rivalries intact which this format would allow. There is no set solution on how the 2014 season will be played.
The SEC Plays sports other than football.
Geographically, it makes sense.
College football teams have up and down years.

Would this lineup make a lick of difference if we were talking about basketball season.

Well...LSU was awful the whole decade of the 90s. Bama had a few great years, and then was garbage until Saban. Arkansas is arkansas. Auburn is two faced. MSU..really? A&M is having one of their best seasons in decades.
Meanwhile, in the 90s UF and UT were the premier teams in the league with a few ok UGA years thrown in. SC is now having their best run ever. Things run in cycles. It's fine now the way it is.
LSU, a&m, arkansas, ole miss, msu, vandy, missouri in a division would be an absolute joke.

Also, congrats on the SEC Champ perennially having 2 or more losses. The East would be near impossible to go undefeated in most years. Also, who'd be Alabama's new SEC West rival? Auburn's? That presents another dilemma.

I'll take a shot at this:
1) Leave it like it is...change it..whatever
2) Tell me LSU's Schedule
3) BHP cheers like hell for LSU and enjoys the season
4) BHP refuses to whine about the "other team's advantage"
Rinse...repeat

Switching Auburn and Mizzou makes the most sense in my mind, at least geographically. All rivalries should be retained in that scenario.
