Also, congrats on the SEC Champ perennially having 2 or more losses. The East would be near impossible to go undefeated in most years. Also, who'd be Alabama's new SEC West rival? Auburn's? That presents another dilemma.
I think the general idea with this is to do away with permanent rivals. If all those teams were in a division they wouldn't need to play their rival and the other games would rotate.

But no, LSU fans, those divisons suck.

The SEC Plays sports other than football.
Football takes top priority b/c of the revenue it brings to the conference. So yes technically there are other sports but none match the importance placed on football.

Geographically, it makes sense.
Yep.

College football teams have up and down years.
Yeah but not all go up and down evenly. AU is up more than down. MSU is down more than up.. etc. etc. To put LSU, aTm, and Arky in a three man race while AU, Bama, UGA, UT, and UF have to fight it out in the East is bullshite. Add SC to the East too under Spurrier and you have hell compared to Heaven in the west.

True, and if you look at the 7 and 7 split in the OP, the overwhelming majority of SEC history would belong to the east. With a few exceptions, Bama, UGA, AU, UT, UF will always be good/pretty good teams, and sometimes great, elite teams.

MSU, Ole miss, missouri, arkansas, vandy have historically been mediocre/bad/awful teams with a few blips of success.

If you're gonna count Arkansas and atm as doing battle in the west simply because of their past few years of success, you have to throw SC into doing battle in the east too.

You've got 3 teams in the east and 6 in the east.

A&M is playing LSU, Ole Miss, State, Arky, Alabama, and Auburn every year.

You can make the divisions however you want after that.

Take a look at Arkansas's record versus South Carolina in recent history.

CBandits....there is no concensus among AD's on how the 2014 schedule will be set.

I was thinking they might move Auburn to the East and give us Mizzou, but that would screw up the TSIO and the Iron Bowl so I don't think that is gonna happen.

You still want that easy W, huh?

Besides, none of this is happening. I can't see an expansion in the next couple of years with the new 4-team playoff coming.

I feel like they will not change anything for a few years and see if certain schools can be competitive year in and year out.

So you think a 10 team conference consisting of Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, S. Carolina, Ky, FSU, Clemson & NC St. would be underwhelming??

OK...

I don't think expansion happens for a little while, but I think there is a strong possibility of realignment soon. I just can't see how they would do it.
