ETA: I think we may have found the only person in existence who couldn't score on Auburn's defense.

He's definitely got a strong hold on his v-card.

A ranking from Lumos labs. Whoever the frick they are. Good find. Last year's USNWR had A&M and Florida tied behind Vandy as the best in the SEC.

So the OP was talking smack b/c Texas A&M was not ranked high enough academically, when A&M was over 100 spots higher on the list than LSU? In the very link that you provided?
We all know Vandy is the cream of the crop when it comes to academics in the SEC. No competition really.
After that there is a group of solid state schools like Florida, Georgia, and yes, Texas A&M. Maybe include Bama and Auburn in that list. Those are all quality schools than I'm happy to have in the SEC...not the absolute elite, but certainly providing a quality education to thousands of students. The rest of the SEC don't need to be throwing stones at those schools regarding who is smarter...

A lot of people really underestimate the value and quality of an Alabama or Auburn education. Both should be AAU in my opinion.

You can definitely get a quality education at a good price at Auburn or Alabama, especially if you choose the right program.
The AAU is just not very friendly to Southern schools. Heck, Georgia Tech was just admitted in 2010 and that is absolutely one of the best public schools in the country. I think UGA should definitely be in, with Auburn and Alabama as maybes. They are definitely better than some current AAU members like Arizona, Oregon, and Iowa State.

Yeah that's friggin absurd. And as soon as Nebraska joined the B1G (the formerly all-AAU conference), the AAU kicked them out!

Supposedly this played a big part in conference expansion. Georgia's the next SEC school in the AAU. The other 3 already in will push for them

I know most people still forget Mizzou is in the SEC but we have 4
Vandy
A&M
UF

UGA will likely be added in the next few years

A&M is fantastic as far as public schools go. We're consistently in the top 20 among public schools according to national rankings and top 5 in starting salaries of graduates.
This thread is fricking stupid, LSU's application is a coloring book.

a&m has some stellar graduate programs, esp in the engineering and sciences. state school undergraduate programs are pretty difficult to compare esp. since some of the "more credentialed" profs don't even teach undergrads (or just have one class). the test scores and core grades for LSU and A&M are almost identical as are many other SEC schools. what a&m has in addition to their superior graduate programs in money. shite loads of texas oil money. texas has a formula that throws hundreds of millions to tejas and a&m. looks to me they screw the rest of their state schools. for a state of 26 million people they only have 2 colleges worth a shite. public colleges. i think rice is pretty top notch.
