I want to hear some legitimate HC options for Tennessee. I am tired of this Gruden talk if we hire him great but lets talk about other options.
1. Charlie Strong-my first choice
2. Chris Peterson- highly unlikely but good hire.
3. Jon Gruden-hopefully he won't be the first choice.
4. others Mike Belotti, Dan Mullen, keep Dooley.

Tuberville would be a decent hire for you guys.

It is really cruel to have Hired a Dooley and never really give him a chance.
From day one he had a wait and see fanbase and now all of a sudden this year is "the year".
Fire him if it makes you feel better, but if you don't improve from the new hire you made a huge mistake.

I would go with a defensive minded coach. What about Mike Stoops? I know he sucked at AZ, but strong defense is the way of the SEC.

Should have beat UGA, should have beat USC, you are closer than you think.
I'd give him another, hell, we have given richie 12.

I don't think it would be Strong, not enough success at the HC level. I think after Dooley they are going to go after a proven coach with sustained success elsewhere, and I dont think they would take another HC from a current SEC school.
Tuberville maybe, I think Sonny Dykes is more likely.
But every Vol Coaching thread I read though turns into Gruden Fest: "Book it" "Take it to the bank." "Done deal.". I don't know if Vol fans know something, or are just have some sort of hope induced mass delusion but they have like 2100 pages on one of their boards dedicated to Gruden coming to UT.

I believe firmly that Dooley should get one more year. He inherited a terrible mess from "that guy with the hot wife" but look at the improvement in the OL, the running game, and the special teams. The only complaint i have is that hiring Sal Sunseri I don't think that was the best move. Our defense is crap. If we hire a new coach it is another new system to learn. and in 3 years if that coach hasn't lived up to expectations we will want him gone. One more year and if it doesn't improve cut him loose.

Heh, have another tumbler or two, posts aren't quite funny enough.
Anyways Tennessee needs to be careful, and only hire a better coach than Dooley or it will regret firing him.
Tennessee has been hard on coaches since Johnny Majors and it hasn't let up.

I have no problems with Gruden but I would rather have someone more experienced at coaching at the college level and with experience at recruiting and Charlie Strong is supposedly one hell of a recruiter. Not to mention he has done a good job at Louisville (granted its the Big East).

Well, that should be easy enough.

I firmly believe you can go frick yourself you fricking a-hole. just because you lost faith in the coaching staff doesn't mean I have you are a shitty Tennessee fan. have some support for the current staff.

If you aren't a winner then winning means nothing.
Kiffin is not a winner and he created chaos behind the scenes and then tried to steal UT's recruits once he bailed.
It's the same thing with Alabama's Mike Dubose, who won an SEC championship despite spiraling off the field issues and it cost his team more than just a hangover the next year.

Hmmm.
Bobbyray21, you have a trend going with "go frick yourself" comments.
As a UGA fan and a Georgia native, unfortunately finding himself in TN, I can only say I understand your comments.
I often find myself laughing my arse off at the comments on the Vol Nation radio show and can only believe that you and your family are some of the prevalent callers.
I and your family appreciate your numeric identification of 21, else we could not differentiate you from the masses of ill conceived, ill bred and ill raised masses of bobbyrays.
Here is hoping your teeth do work out, little Missy gains control of her "externals" and your mama gets that money from the goberment.
