LSU fans jumped up and down on the MSC grass when I was in school and I think it was from lack of knowledge.
My guess is not lack of knowledge but hearing "they don't want us to walk on their sacred grass, lets go be idiots on it" without realizing that its actually showing disrespect towards fallen soldiers of this country and has little to do with A&M.

What's the big deal? The guy has respectfully asked fans of another school to respect something that should be important to us all. I think that all of us need to respect other schools when we go to their stadiums, remember we are quests. Didn't your mother teach you anything about how to act?
Before anyone brings up Harvey Updyke....he did his deed days after the game, and not while other fans were on the campus. Remember Auburn fans, you messed with our grass at Champion walk aso, so we all need to step back and respect others.

Is this an indirect defense of Updyke?

There is no defense for Updyke. I have never thought what any fan does to another school's property was funny, just or acceptable. I want to come onto your campus, enjoy your fans and party with Bama fans, beat your team, and go home.
I don't understand this other stuff that people feel the need to do. I've seen fans break off flags from vehicles when leaving a game, and wondered why did you do that, and what exactly did it accomplish. Did it make you feel better?

On topic: I think the OP has a very reasonable request.

Repeat: Don't worry about an extremely small spot of grass that 99% of LSU fans will never see. All the main sidewalks and thoroughfares are not near this patch.
It’s a non- issue and embarrassing that some Aggie would even mention this internet rumor gone wild.
The rest of the 5200 acres of campus grass you can walk all over. Get after it.

Serious question, is there a special process they go about for cutting the grass?

I don't know what kind of bats they have in Florida, but the Mexican Free-tails are tiny. If they were easy to keep out, it would have already been done.
We had a problem about ten years ago that they got into the library two or three springs (they're migratory) in a row. Finally, some sorority girl who had taken her shoes off was bitten in the toe putting them back on, and there was a rabies scare. They wound up having to take out ceiling tiles floor by floor in the library looking for any openings.
These things can get into anything. They are tiny. I would love to have a few of them in my yard at night though.
I hope they keep these things in mind while they spend $450 million on the upgrades, but I wouldn't be shocked though to see a beautiful renovated stadium filled with guano five years from now.
