I was here as well...tough days for some of the Bama fans here.

My first Alabama game was Vanderbilt in 2000. I went to a couple of games in 2002, one in 2005, and three or four in 2006.

I can be honest. I went to/watched every game I could. I had great friends that played on the team--most are still my friends. I don't know if I would have gone to as many games if they weren't forking over the free tickets, but I would have certainly watched on TV...at least for a half or so.

Yet this is the exact same spill that your fan base gives to Auburn, Tennessee, ect
Where? Most Alabama fans I know defend Tennessee's history and expect they will come back. Auburn tends to have a few good years and drive everyone crazy and then they hit the dumpster again. Don't see why that won't change.

I watch more now on TV, because there are more Bama games now on TV. When we were sucking it up, you didnt get the chance to see Bama play on TV every week like you do now. As for going to the game, I average the same number now as I did then. 3-4 a season. I love to see Bama win, but I love the Tide more.

When I have lived in the state, I have gone to all home games since I was little. Our family has had season tickets for a long, long time.
When I have lived out of state, I usually make it to at least one game a year. This has always been the case. Even when we lost.
Only game I ever left early was the 2000 Iron Bowl when it was sleeting.

I wasn't on this site, but I've been on many others going waaaaay back. I was on rec.sport.football.college back in the mid-90's.
One particular argument I remember before Saban was hired sticks out-- I remember a Michigan fan on another board telling me that Bama wouldn't be able to hire a top-notch coach again because the program was totally irrelevant. I try not to hold grudges but this season's Michigan game was particularly sweet.

I was here. It was hell 24-7.
Y'all want to get better? Get rid of Jay Jacobs, period.
Get rid of Pat Dye, he should NOT be the voice of AU ever.
Get a head coach that will tell old farts like Pat Dye to hit the curb and will run the AU program his way and y'all will be thankful in a couple of years. There's just no reason AU can't field competitive sports teams.

Alabama used to be ridiculed here constantly and now they are running shite on a yearly basis. How redeeming does it feel?
As much shite as I took during the 2000's, it is like being on a constant morphine-induced high as I return all the shite 10 fold.
I also started lurking during early 07 but didn't actually register till much later.

Before my son was born I would go to at least 2-3 games per year, since he was born I'm lucky if I get to 1 game per year.

Been here since Feb 2007, was blasted for my user name and told not to expect much....I kinda thought different. Although I don't post much, I am here every week catching up on issues I might have missed, so yeah, it feels frickin' awesome
and yeah, I was on in the middle of the night during the porn raid on TideSports, was switching back and forth so I knew who on the rant was doing it...don't remember now, but it was memorable

I've never lived in Alabama nor did I attend the university but have been a fan and followed the program as closely as possible since the days of Paul W. Bryant.

As someone who started lurking message boards in '99-'00 (I think?) & first joined a sports message board (Tider Insider, lulz) the day Fran was hired and had to go through suffer through all those shitty years, the success we are enjoying right now is very satisfying.
Most of these Bama fans that have only been fans since Saban was hired have no idea how shitty it was to go through all the bullshite hires, NCAA investigations, losing to our rivals every year, "moral victories", etc. in the online era.
Life is, and has been for the last 5 seasons, very, very good.

I was here and to be honest I don't act any differently now than then but I have learned not to get baited.

Been watching and attending Bama games since 1968. One thing I can say with absolute certainty, given a good coach,we will never be a "Doormat". Everyone on here who knows anything about football knows it. We'll be down for a few years, but always be back.Yeah I was around here then but knew we'd have our day.

Lifelong 'Bama fan. Current alum. First game attended was '03 NIU, so yeah, I suffered through the Mikes as much as anyone else. I made up for being present for that travesty by being a student during the Saban years. All my life, any game I couldn't watch on TV, I listened to on the radio, no matter how shitty the game was. Always blew my non-Bama fan friends' minds. I wondered why they didn't do it if they were as much of a superfan as I was.
