He's actually my favorite during the Masters.

I just meant in his football capacity. Golf happens slowly enough that his senile brain is able to keep up. I'll take him over Berman for golf 8 days a week.

I love Verne. I love how he calls the Wildcat the Wildcard and that he thinks first downs are touchdowns. We all know what he was thinking... I love how he forgets he's on TV and says stuff like... WHAT WAS HE THINKING??! or OH MY GOD!

I'm going to miss him when he hangs it up. And I love how Gary is his serious counterpart. They are a perfect pair.

way too many commercials.

danielson is a very smart commetator, but can sometimes sound a little elitist. whatever, i like him

vern is comic gold. he constantly screws up players' names, which actually makes for a fun drinking game.

hate cbs for cfb, but can find ways to make it fun.

The commercials piss me off if I'm at the game. Verne and Gary don't bother me. Verne frick's up names regularly but oh well.

They both need to go. Why can't announcers just stick to the facts of the game as it unfolds. Their opinions are like everybody else's, you know what they say about opinions?

The commercials are a bit annoying. And if you go to a game IRL that's being televised by CBS, you can feel the time difference in the TV time outs. There is a lot of sitting around and waiting.

For that matter though, I've been noticing a lot of annoying angles when ABC/ESPN has been televising lately.

That LSU/Ole Miss game they did in Tiger Stadium in 2010 felt like it would never end due to all the commercial breaks....

It's got to mess up the player's concentration to always be stopping and standing around for commercials.

Without a doubt.

It takes the crowds out of the game. I know it has to annoy the shite out of the players. The only way I can see it benefiting the players is late in the game when they need a break.

I'm sure it doesn't pose a problem for the lsu offense, they are used to being stationary

I still love how we stole Verne and Gary's sport coats during a broadcast

Can't believe I left that out. I literally heard him saying it in my mind as I read your post

ETA: Too bad Auburn's been banished to 11:00 Siberia so we don't have him calling our games. But the Cam era with Verne made me a fan forever

I love it myself,to the casual fan who doesn't know much about the players or football,i could see where Verne could piss them off.

But to those of us die hard fans, listening to him frick up the names all the time makes for some good comedy,it adds to the game imo.
