I just want to know what you think is "southeastern" if boots don't fit that label.

A five page fashion thread on the rant. Nice. We can't kick the damned football off soon enough.

^^ this

I hated boots until I bought a pair of Lucchese Classic Full-quill ostrich with the french toe, Nicotine color.

Most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had and perfectly accepted here in Texas for everything but after 5 formal events.

You can bust on Texas all you want to, but Lucchese boots are awesome. Expensive, but worth it

Yup. I'll still wear black ones sometimes after 5 if I feel I won't be the only one. I really really really hate dress shoes.

Yeah because you have to wear a cowboy hat and belt buckle if you own boots.

I hate talking about boots to people outside of Texas sometimes. I don't ever use the term 'cowboy boots', it is usually just 'boots'.

Don't really know what those are, but I'll trust your judgement.

I mean I wouldn't consider cowboy boots that "southeastern" either. Definitely not "Dixie". But The Lone Star State is better than Dixie, so who really cares?

Those are sharp, Ag.

Who knew so many SEC folks felt so strongly about boots? I assumed most people owned at least a pair or two. Practical (and comfortable as hell) for toolin' around the ranch, city, any place else. Not sure what else you'd wear.

Interesting.

Not all of the southeast, but at least in Florida it is white shoes

Kinda pointless for a man to get these imo. Cuz no one would ever see the logo unless you're wearing them with shorts or have your jeans tucked in your boots. And if you do either of these things, diaf.

Pointy toes aren't my thing either, but to each his own I guess.

Ive been up here in Montana since 2008 and I do believe a pair of those LSU cowboy boots would go great up here especially during calving season.

I like cowboy boots but I wouldn't wear those. It's tacky.

I'll stick to my Justin work boots for normal wear and Tony Lama ostrich skin for special occasions.

I just don't understand why anybody who isn't a cowboy would bother to wear cowboy boots. They are basically high heels for men.

Uncomfortable as frick.

Get a nice pair of leather slip ons and some Sperry's for cool weather and you're set.
