I mean, it's like any time someone brings the SECW up, it's always "LSU/Bama/Arky", and people act like they're the only three capable of winning the West. Not to mention, if you talk to most of the LSU fans on here (who think football started in 2007), we've never fielded a competent football team that wasn't led by Cam Newton. How quickly people forget the early 2000's when the LSU/AU game effectively decided who was going to Atlanta.

One year after we win a national championship, Arkansas finishes above us in the division standings, and all of the sudden everyone acts like Arkansas has been up there with LSU/Bama since they've joined the SEC.

Don't get me wrong, I would be absolutely floored if anyone other than LSU or Bama makes it to Atlanta, but Arkansas? Seriously? With John LOLOLOL Smith coaching? No thanks. Honestly, from all the talk on this board you'd think Arkansas would've at least won an SEC championship by now.

Looks to me like we've got some order to restore this season. 10/6/12.

Disagree. I'd say most LSU fans have hated Auburn since 1999, at least that is how I feel. Definitely remember the 2000s when the road to Atlanta went through Auburn/Baton Rouge. I still have a lot of respect for Auburn and always look forward to the LSU-Auburn game even though they are down.

Since the numbers 1,2, and 3 teams in the rankings were from the SEC West at one point last season?

Look dude.

I'll break it to you as easy as I can..

Auburn just doesn't matter. You had your 1 year where you came out of nowhere because of a certain player, other than that.. its total irrelevance.

serious answer: Arkansas finished top 5 last year and starts top 10 this year. Auburn finished others receiving votes and starts others receiving votes/25.

kind of obvious.

until Arkansas is displaced as the (at least perceived) third best team in the West, Arkansas will be in the big 3.

Auburn is, objectively, the third best overall program in the SEC West. They've just been down the last few years. They'll be a top three team again next year for sure.

If we're talking historically, Auburn always was in the big 3.

If we're talking the current state of the programs, there is no big 3, just the big 2. Arky was fighting to get up into that top tier with a great last few years, but now that CBP is gone, so is that thought. Unless they prove otherwise this season that is.

Auburn just hasn't been consistently relevant the past few years. I don't really think Chizik is the guy to get you back into the big 3 either, personally. I do hope i'm wrong because I like Auburn, but it seems it took a once in a generation player to make you competitive under his reign.

I would say Big 4...put Au in there. Au did win a NC.

It was when all 4 coaches were hired. Great coaching.

Currently, there is a Big 2. Hopefully, very soon there will be a Big 3 starting next year. Arky had a chance to make it a Big 3, but sent that opportunity skidding off into a field.
