That is why I said it is probably coincidence. Also, UT and UF have probably had just as many problems. LSU had several as well. Bama has had a few, but been able to keep most of them in house.
It just so happens that a large percentage of the best athletes in the South, come from a culture where these types of crimes (marijuana use, gun possession) are common place. It is bound to happen.

Some funny trolling going on the AJC article:

So…he’s a “gun runner” then? He’s “gunnin’ ” for that Heisman bid? His improvements have been “right on target?” He’s got that extra “burst” up the middle, right? Well, don’t worry, the dawgs will just “reload.”

I don’t see the big deal. It’s summer. It’s UGA. Isn’t this what always happens?

I breathe a sigh of relief when I glance at this board every morning and don't see one of our guys hitting the headlines with thuggish actions.
You never know when your team's number comes up and one of your own players decides to act a fool.

ETA: I am seriously starting to like Mizzou's chances against Georgia this year. You are now down what, five starters for that game?

Richt seems to have disciplined Crowell and Crowell chose to ignore him. That isn't Richt's fault, it is Crowell's.
Good point. You can't help someone who doesn't want it.

I think the problem is with Athens PD not UGA and not Richt. Richt does plenty, he should maybe not give a few select so many chances but he does discipline players.

dumb post by bamascott.. hes a thug pos.. coaches cant always see the fine lining. get him off the team and move on. georgia will be fine. and march richt is a good coach and has a pretty decent resume. not every team in the country can have a saban and miles. we as fans are both very fortunate to have HC at that level. one championship and richt is there

Eric Holder just announced that IC was gun walking for the "Fast and Furious" program.
He was undercover, no big deal, just a slight mix up. Look for Crowell to be suited up come game 1.
