Former Bama standout T. Richardson "nothing special or outstanding"

according to Jim Brown, again. He's really being outspoken about Trent, I wonder why?

quote:
"I think the kid is a good working back, and if you've got everything else around him he can play his role," Brown said of Richardson in an interview with WKNR radio in Cleveland. "But when it comes to outstanding, I don't see anything outstanding about him. It's not said in a cruel manner. He's very efficient, and that's what you want."
"I'm not trying to be mean. There are certain people you look at and there's something special about them. I don't see it."
Brown acknowledged Richardson's impressive strength during the interview but said that strength does not matter as much as speed and quickness in the NFL.
"But you're not going to make it with strength and ordinary speed and quickness," Brown said. "I don't think it's even an issue. When you deal with Richardson, he comes out of that Alabama mold. He'll work hard for you, and he's kind of an all-around back. But if you look at Cleveland, I would have gotten me a couple of receivers."

Are we recycling pre-draft news today?

Jim Brown wasn't a CFB analyst for a reason...

Who cares what that angry man has to say?

quote:So, he just re-iterated his pre-draft stance. FWIW-I think TR will be a very good pro-back, but the NFL has devalued the RB position a good bit with the way the game is played now.

I don't get why he's making such a public stance about it. It's not like he will ever be marginalized by Trent.

Did he punch any women during the interview? TR can't half a candle to JB in that area.

Cause he's angry old man, and the only way people pay attention to him is if he is negative.

Mark Ingram better live up to his college hype or I'm gonna be pissed

I like MI and hope he does, but I think T-Rich is much more suited to be successful in the NFL than Ingram. I'm not too sure MI will be more than an ok back in the NFL.

Maybe he is trying to talk him down so Richardson will in return work harder and prove him wrong..
Or maybe he really thinks that there is nothing special about him....
