Have you seen us play or heard Trent talk? Our team played just like trent's personality-boring. Jones is a magnetic personality-go look at the rant right now-who runs an up tempo team. Can get players to come play for that.

he's an upgrade but not a huge one like we needed.

He can recruit. That alone is an upgrade.

Having a warm body with a pulse in the coaches box during games is an upgrade from Trent, IMO. Trent looked like he could give two shits about what was going on during some games last year.

As long as he can teach the players how to create shots and dribble properly, he is an upgrade.

Why was he at North Texas for 11 years then?

I'd rather have Big Baby / Tyrus type guys and an average coach than whatever TJ brought to the table.

of course they are. but they are too far and in between.

Safe to assume Jones brings more value to LSU than he would have to any other program.

this. Nothing else has worked for the LSU basketball program. May as well roll the dice on an alum who is passionate about being here.

what does that have to do with his recruiting? Guys are hit and miss when you're going after coaches from mid-majors. Grant hasn't exactly lived up to expectations so far...

It's college basketball. If a guy is any good a larger program is going to pick a smaller program's pocket for a coach. I don't think he was staying in Denton, Texas because he loved it that much.
