Arkansas should let Petrino go and move on

Can't believe I'm typing this.
Last year, our offensive line took a hit when Anthony Oden got another DUI. Then Rasner got poppoed with some criminal offense, then Peacock, then Whitehurst, and now this "scandal" from Petrino. Just way too much "shite" going on for what should be a top notch program.
He's a hell of coach, and I honestly believe he's 2nd behind Saban in terms of ability. But he fricked up majorly and we need to right the ship. Bring in Paul Petrino, Gus, or Garrick McGee. Petrino has laid an awesome foundation and any of those guys can continue upon his success.
He set the program's standards to a higher level than ever before, and because of that we can't put up with this kind of nonsense.

If you guys fire him over this, I hope your program never recovers.

I must say that I am astonished that so many hogs seem to be calling for Petrino to be let go. I don't know if you all are just resigning yourselves to the worst possible scenario so when it does not happen you will be pleasantly surprised or what?
Or maybe you really do believe in putting the program and its honorability above the coach and this recent act is just one too many examples of Petrino's poor character?
This is an about face of sorts. Its not like Petrino just became a douchebag a couple days ago. I remember when he was acting like a jackass on national tv, yelling frick you across the field and most of you guys thought that was awesome. Or the post-it note departure that y'all tirelessly defended as being a necessary and justified act. Not to mention the scheming he did to throw his former mentor under the bus and take his place at Auburn where he was portrayed as being merely an ambitious person.
So he cheated on his wife with another university employee and then lied about it. Is it just too much now?

They should force him to take sexual addiction counseling and say he has a problem that is beyond his control and he's working hard to correct his family life.
I certainly wouldn't fire the guy because he's a good coach.
You just have your PR people cook up some good sob story and show that he's trying to walk a path to redemption. If he does it again, then at least you've already identified it is a pre-existing condition.
You only fire coaches that aren't winning. Mike Price would have kept his job if he had one a natty before hitting the strip club.

Bobby was just putting MF into the BMFP last weekend.

While I agree with you, we all know that's not going to happen. The girl will be lose her job and Petrino will be fined and maybe a month-long suspension but that's about it. Petrino's wife will issue a statement standing by her man, mistakes and all, until the dust settles on all of this and then she and her attorney will take him to the cleaners. What we won't know is what Petrino pays the girl to keep quiet.

If he stays game day signs could be embarrassing.

If BMFP has already lost the support of the hardcore fans like Ham, then it's best that what needs to be done is done quickly.

they knew exactly what they're getting. the same higher state of learning was pig soooey after the detrimental way he left ATL. Slamming co-eds should be expected, so don't pretend your consumed about integrity now. take you proficient offense and sit down/enjoy

Recruiting is the life blood of a program, of which CBP is inept. If he could recruit I'd agree, but Miles is #2 behind Saban.

Don't be too hard on Bobby. Love is a helluva thing.

REALLY? Arkansas has a National Championship. Arkansas has at least two SEC Appearances. None of which involve Petrino.
Arkansas has won in the past, and can win again. I'my mystified by the Arkansas fan base--so on love with a guy that brings them to 2nd and 3rd place.

This guy is a magnet for bad PR.
Auburn plane fiasco
Falcons departure
Les Miles deal
now this
I think it should be clear to everyone know - including Arkansas fans - that Petrino is a POS. He may be a good/great coach, but he's a POS. I guess the question for Arkansas fans becomes: What is more important?...Integrity or Winning.
