Being from Texas and living in Austin I have frequented Kyle Field. It is a cool experience and has some decent traditions. That being said the corps of 150 lbs fake military kids are gay as AIDS.

Are you actually a Marine or do you just have Marine shite all over your sig? I love A&Ms Military tradition partly because when I started school there I was just off of active duty and was all busted up. I was treated with amazing respect by admin and students. A large number of those "gay" Corps guys wind up becoming Marine Officers. They are a goofy looking bunch but no more so than the ROTC of any other school.

It's a good thing DADT has been repealed in their case?

Even John David Crow wants girls on A&M's sideline.

My perfect scenario is to keep the Yell Leaders as they are but put an all girl spirit squad a la USCw on the track behind the North Endzone.

Break up the Corps block too and I'm one pleased Ag

Texas A&M is doing everything to try and compete.
They aren't replacing their history but they are trying to cover it up.

1. Move to the SEC for the Money, check.

2. Hire a good Black Coach, check.

3. Bring girls on the sidelines to cover the yell leaders, in the works.

4. Move Arkansas to home in order to keep Arkansas out of Dallas as much as possible, check.

5. Upgrade Kyle Field, In the works.

6. Complaining to the SEC office trying to keep the students behind the visiting sidelines, check

7. Move to the SEC for visibility with bigger programs.

There is a reason everyone makes Aggie Jokes and they are trying to change that.

P.S. The one thing they can't change is the "A&M" part which screams second rate in their own state.

Man, some of you Faggies just don't get it.

Y'all better be prepared for your first big away game, at Jordan-Hare no less, because clearly some of y'all have no idea what you're getting into.

The SEC is about to understand why these Aggie jokes are real.

A. Bo knows SEC football. Texas A&M does not.
B. Your sig image about 14x times too big, I'd change it before an admin sees. Max size is 30,000 bytes.

Thread kind of sucks.

I'm sure if we keep discussing the general premise here, but in slighty different manners, we'll eventually lead to a different ending.

It's just old, right? A&M's gay, yada yada....

It is what it is. Folks think it's gay. Cool. Next topic.

I've been to Kyle Field. The tacklebox doesn't belong in the same paragraph as Death Valley or The Swamp.

I'm glad it's mostly SEC Internet posters and not actual SEC fans that are so condescending. You guys assume so much and think your opinions are fact.

My favorite part is the Kentucky fan trying to inform A&M about big boy football

And PRK, it sounds like you've been to one game at Kyle. What team were we playing that day? If it was New Mexico or Iowa State please come give us another look when we are playing Florida, Arkansas or LSU at home this year. Try and make it a night game too. Like all good stadiums, Kyle is extra special at night

Do you really feel like the cheerleaders add that much to the game experience. I feel a lot of times that our cheerleaders are doing nothing but praticing for their routines for their own championship. I just don't really get that inspired by a tumbling. I feel that as fans, we know when to yell and don't have to be instructed.
I like Big Al for the kids, and the cheerleaders look good, but I wouldn't really notice if they were not there.

It's not that cheerleaders add to the game day experience...it's the fact that aggies think their gay as frick yell leaders are the fricking shite.

I have been to several games at Kyle. I have unfortunately had to sit up close to the gay crew. THAT fricking ruined my game day experience. The last thing I want to see is that shite in my face while trying to watch a game.

A game there has it's cool spots. Overall...meh.

Boy are you Faggies in for a rude awakening!!

You THINK you were playing football in the big 12. You havent seen anything compared to what you are going to see when you visit BDS, Tiger Stadium, Jordan-Hare, The Swamp, and Neyland. Not to mention Athens and Columbia (SC).

It gets fricking loud, but thats not even the intimidating part. It's knowing that any 1 of those fans would just as soon tear your head off and shite down your throat as look at you during those 60 minutes of football. It's knowing that when the game is over, you have to walk out of there through a see of Crimson and White or Purple and Gold or Orange and Blue and listen to them all over again the entire way back to your car. It's sitting in a stadium filled with between 80-100k fans that have done absolutely nothing for 365 days but think about how terrible they can make your visit to their town.

It's different in the SEC and you wont know it until it hits you, and when it does, its gonna take a lot more than some Texas bourbon to get that knotted up feeling out of your gut.

I gotta defend the Aggies on this one. Tradition is what the SEC is all about -- and we don't all have to have the same traditions. Who would even want that?

There's nothing wrong with coordinated cheers. Anyone ever heard Alabama fans chant Rammer Jammer? Or Hotty Toddy (okay, bad example). How about LSU's band fanfares followed by "Geaux Tigers." Anybody have a problem with the calling of the Hogs? Or ringing cowbells? Kentucky has that "Cats, Cats, Cats" cheer with the weird cat scratch gestures. Georgia fans bark for God's sake. Florida has Mr. Two Bits and they sing "We are the Boys" -- while swaying arm in arm. USC has sandstorm -- and half the stadium yelling "Cocks" at the top of their lungs. Auburn has a bird flying around the stadium. Could cheers coordinated by yell leaders be any more annoying that singing Rocky top ("Wooo!") eleventy-million times?

Yeah, yeah, fine -- mock them for being crotch grabbers. They don't care. They heard it all when they were in the Big Bevo. Give them shite all you went, but don't expect them to change.

I'm with ya... overall many traditions across football are pretty bad if its not "your tradition." Certainly the blatantly homoerotic yell leaders are not my cup of tea but far be it from me to tell the Aggies how to get excited. I've been to a couple of games at Kyle Field and while I wouldn't say its on the level of the louder SEC schools, its not like they're as far off as many have made out here. I will say their fans were significantly more pleasant to be around than some rival SEC schools I've been to. They are passionate. They get loud and they STAND UP the whole fricking time... (maybe I saw people sitting at halftime? can't remember now...)
I'm excited about adding them to the conference even if we won't personally play them for a few years. (Sorry but no chance of you guys making it to ATL. :NB4UGAwontbethereeither: )
Also... whoever said cheerleaders don't add anything to the experience. You go to hell sir. You go to hell and you die.

You obviously have not been to Death Valley, BDS, J-H, or The Swamp looking for intimidation... I am sure UGA, UT, and USCe would have something to say about that but I have not been there for a game.

I appreciate some comments from someone who has been to a game. Students do stand the whole time, but sit during the halftime performance of the other team's band. Former students do stand often, but do not have to stand the whole time. (I don't mind that, after four years of standing the whole time, you've earned the right to sit at Kyle, I think, although I wouldn't trade my years with the 12th Man for anything.)

I think a clear distinction needs to be drawn for this conversation. Yell Leaders are not cheer leaders. They do not do things that cheer leaders do. They are not male cheer leaders either. They use hand signals to lead 30,000+ students in yells that they have memorized.

Cheerleaders would be something completely different, the important question for A&M is how does if affect the unique atmosphere at Kyle Field, and is there even a demand among the female student population to have cheerleaders or ADT at the game?
