he put fricking Stanford on the map. a team that hasn't been to a bowl game for nearly 10 years. nuff said. if he came back, Stanford would've played LSU for the national title.
his tenure at Stanford is more impressive than what he's doing at 49ers imo.

Both are great coaches, but I'd take Harbaugh at any level of competition.

Bama is so far ahead of anyone in SEC titles we don't sweat that like other teams We will take the BCSNC instead if we are forced to

If H-baugh is so good let him take a pos SEC team like the Vols and win a SECC.

So by your logic, Chris Peterson is the better than Harbaugh and Saban. Just sayin.....

Look is Harbaugh a good coach, but reading some of these post, it seems they are gonna have to build a new HOF just to put Harbaugh in it.

It's not really the same at all.

The best of the best win on the biggest stage, and that's the NFL

Bear Bryant, Eddie Robinson, Joe Paterno, Bobby Bowden take a back seat to no one.

Do not embarrass yourself with statements that do not have merit.

To say Saban could not cut it at the NFl level compared to Harbaugh is fine, but there is nothing to suggest that you have to win in the NFL to be best. College football and the NFL present different challenges that are suited for different people.

I dare say that Bill Belichick would find college football 10x harder than his current gig.

Thanks for the laughs

I took out the comment about Belichik because it had nothing to do with my argument.

I stand behind the notion that he would find coaching college much harder because of its different challenges, as compare to that of the NFL.

He wouldn't stand 5 years having to deal with undisciplined kids and talking to moms and dads. Sucking up to alumni, dealing with an AD, checking on if kids are going to class, etc. Not because he couldn't do it, but because he wouldn't want to do it. Especially after being accustomed to the NFL.

Calling someone a dumbass while not even being able to spell "dumb", quite the genius here...

Stanford is not nearly as hard to win at, as some people are tying to suggest in this thread. That campus and education sells inself. Now, Harbaugh is a great coach because he turned it around quickly.

What difference does it make? It doesnt defeat the fact that Harbaugh will be the next coach at Alabama win Saban retires. 49ers can't match Bama money......
