Complimenting not flaming on LSU 's offense

At first glance LSU's offense looks like a high school's in that it relies on the run and seems to be nothing more than a few plays run over and over. It is only after close examination that one understands that the simplicity is overshadowed only by its efficiency.
For example, LSU's passing offense is rated 105 out of 120 schools. This metric only looks at passing yardage per game. But LSU is rated 19 in passing efficiency. Why? Because passing efficiency includes TDs, INTs, yards per attempt, et cet. LSU is rated above ARK in passing efficiency. LSU doesn't throw often but when they do, they are very efficient. Over 8% of passing attempts result in a TD.
Another factor that partially explain's LSU's undefeated season is that they do not turn the ball over. LSU has thrown 4 INTs all year.LSU has 4 fumbles. They have 30 takeaways and lead the country in TO margin.
Combine this with the country's best punter and punt return coverage and you have a lot of short fields.
Add in one of the most powerful rushing attacks which controls the clock and you have an undefeated season.
That is without mentioning a disruptive ball-hawking defense. If bama beats this team, they deserve the NC.

a bunch of other things that don't show up on the stat sheets are the many, many ways that LSU can and will score on their opponents.
the return game, key turnovers giving short fields, just anything and everything.
when looking at stats, people always, always, always overlook shite like that.
It's an opportunistic style all over the field.

I also think that having a coach that actually works with the QBs (Krag instead of Crowton) has helped the offensive staff get a better handle on their capabilities. This adds to an overall trend with our coaches not asking guys to do anything they aren't capable of doing and trusting them to actually do what they're asked to do.
Our offensive staff is much better this year than in past years at not asking the QBs to do too much, or do things they just can't do.

combine all that with what may be the most well-rounded special teams units that I've ever seen...
don't think many people can argue with that, either.

You son of a bitch. I can see right through your reverse psychology.

You got beat by a High School offense? Says more about you than anything.

You seem scared.
I prefer respectful to scared. I respect what LSU has accomplished this year. It is true that Bama's biggest accomplishment to date is the OT loss to LSU. The reason that is our biggest accomplishment is that we stood toe to toe with a team that has dominated all its other opponents.
That loss is more impressive than our win over ARK. No other team can claim they played you even thru regulation.
Your team is the most opportunistic team in college football history. You have a dominant defense. You have dominating special teams. You have an efficient offense that makes the most of field position and rarely turns the ball over.
You destroyed a reasonably good GA team with a QB who passed for 30 yards.
I am not scared for January but I may wet the bed next November.

If Bama beats this team, it will be 1-1.

Not reverse psychology, you have just never before observed a Gump telling the truth. LSU has a damn strong football team.
Neither team should be dishonored in a loss.

I am with you. I don’t like it, but on the other hand I am up for some perverse photography.

I think if LSU can go this game without a turnover they will tie NCAA record fewest in 1 season.

The short field cannot be over-stated. Also, the entire mind-set of the head coaches. We are not trying to score alot of points. We just want to win the game. Les would rather kick a field goal after a drive that took 10 mins off the clock, then score a TD on a drive that took 2 mins off the clock

LSU has relied on special teams and defense to win games all year, and this next one will be no different. The offense is there simply to eat the clock and pick up a few yards here without turning it over. It's an offense by design.
Don't believe that LSU doesn't have offensive weapons however, they do. Miles prefers not to put the ball in the air though and uses the personnel to fit his scheme.

Bama's offense is the same exact way. Jesus H. Christ.

If Bama wins they will be national champions, but that doesn't mean it will be deserved over LSU. Going 1-1 against the best team in the country shouldn't get Bama the title, especially when you consider opponents played by both and LSU winning at Bama.

LSU has relied on special teams and defense to blow teams out all year
This was never more true than in the Georgia game. We were up like 28-10, having scored 28 unanswered points with under 100 yards of total offense and the game was clearly over. Georgia was done. And, I remember thinking, "How did we just do that?" We had not had a first down the entire first half and suddenly, within minutes, the game was over.
LSU got some big yards in the 4th quarter with our running game, but ended with 30 yards passing and it was a complete domination of a team who had finished 7-1 in the SEC and had 10 straight victories.
If LSU was just getting by opponents, winning with FGs and such at the last minute, I could say that they were just opportunistic. That is how LSU went 11-2 last year. Lots of close wins.
But, this team is BLOWING other teams out with defense and special teams and an efficient offense. I don't know if I've ever seen that before in college football history. I've seen teams win close ones this way, but never beat top 10 teams by 20-30 points like this.
LSU is just scary good and they are perfectly designed to beat Alabama on January 9th.
Of course, Alabama is very good too and can just as easily beat LSU.
