But Geno Smith said we had no shot without the Roofer.

On a serious note he and his family really like Trooper and in the end I think the combination of that and some other teams filling will put him in O&B.

And you guys need him badly as an OLB, him and Kwon will be a few great D recruits for AU, just hope AU doesn't make him a DE like Owens, he is way too athletic, beef up Lemonier (he's a monster) and let Ward play OLB and come off the edge in pass rush situations, he's a Bama type big physical LB that is exactly what AU needs badly at OLB

had you said the opposite, i'd be more inclined to believe he's coming.

He's coming only team with an outside shot is Miss St. I think Bama didn't get on him early enough and we already have a similar player with Ryan Anderson. I'm just relaying info no need to flame

He's been a DE all HS though hasn't he? I mean the kid is 6'3 260 according to Scout. That isn't an OLB in our scheme. I thought he was playing DE in the All-Star game as well. Is he not?

As for Owens, we tried to make him a LB. He just couldn't make the adjustment, because like Ward, he has played DE most of his life. He feels much more comfortable at DE, that wasn't the coaches fault.

He lost weight and played both spots this year playing OLB in the all star game

Right now he is 6'4 255

He is just freakish athletic and this year playing both positions had a lot better production he had 20 sacks pretty sick

Damn. Well, I guess the coaches will see where he fits best in our defense.

He's a DE at that size, not an OLB in a 4-3.

I'm going to be curious to see if AU isn't looking into running something more like a 3-4.

Trying to sneak out the back of a class would be tough.

Agree. If he's 250+ lbs in high school, he'll be 270+ after a year or two of college weight training. No way he ends up at LB.

Many of you are still forgetting that his brother, Taurus Ward, plays at Ole Miss. That will be a factor. He will have us up there in the end

So since mama loves trooper, does the fact trooper is looking at HC positions change anything? I think it does. A great deal.
