He's been there for a decade now.

Georgia certainly has the recruiting, facilities, fanbase, etc to be a top program year in and year out.

Yet Richt hasnt even been able to get into the NC game. It seems Georgia always loses a game they shouldnt, and it comes back to bite them in the arse.

LSU, Bama, Auburn, and Florida have all had a season where they were totally dominant, so good that other teams were scared to play them. Why hasnt Richt been able to attain that level of success in just one season?

You say it as if it's easy as getting bowl eligibility.

It is possible... but until we get a playoff or a plus 1 it limits his chances..

I would love to see Alabama vs. OSU and LSU vs. Virginia Tech and then you would have a true champion.. Heck, if UGA wo

next year looks pretty promising for his chances...shcedule sets up nice...have to win em all tho...uga will never get the love from the talking heads that they need if they have any losses...its gonna have to be an undefeated season so that nobody can deny them...espn hates uga...fact

Only because the other SEC schools with great recruiting, big fanbases, etc (LSU, UT, UF, AU, UA) have all won a national championship in the BCS era.

His best chance was if Stafford and Knowshon came back.

He has about a 1% chance of ever winning one with Mike Bobo.

Not as long as Miles, Saban, and Spurrier keep their current positions.

I've said it time and time again. Most years, you need to get a bit lucky to win the NC. Richt has not. He has put us in position plenty of times but things didn't fall our way.

I honestly think he will win one before he retires/quits. I said it 8 weeks ago and i'll say it again today.

Not likely, but with a couple of breaks they could find themselves playing for it next year.

Maybe. His predictability makes Gary Crowton's offense look like Mike Leach's.

03 LSU, 06 UF, 07 LSU, 08 UF, potentially 11 bama...all those teams got a shot at the title with a loss.

In Richt's 2 best years we didn't have the lucky breaks needed to get there with a loss, the above teams did. I'm not making excuses I'm just pointing out facts. It's not like Richt has sucked his whole career or has never even been close, because he has been. It just hasn't worked out for him. He certainly can win one but who knows if he ever will.

2002 and 2008 he was unlucky but 2007 was his own fault and even 2008 he did a lot that hurt us

Just saying, look at our schedule and possibly substitute Bama with Missouri. Not to mention we return a shite ton from this team. Bobo couldn't frick that up if he wanted to

Agreed, but that's also showing that we have had our chances and things didn't work out like we needed to. The people saying "no" just think of Richt in 2009-2010. Not shooting rainbows up assholes or anything, but the "not as long as miles, spurrier, and saban" BS is ridiculous. He's beaten all of them before, and beaten them all away from home too
