Some people feel that a BCS Bowl (at-large) is better than playing for the possibility of a Conference Championship.
Oh and I wanna give a shout-out to The Flagship!

Winning your division in the SEC means more than winning a BCS game IMHO.
(Non-Championship of course)

The reason I bring this up is because some Arky's think that a at large bid is better than winning their conference

No one, but the fanbase, is going to really remember just winning the division ten years from now. Especially if it doesn't result in a conference title. However, BCS bowls judge the quality of a program over the long haul.

An at large team out of the SEC is almost certainly going to be very good. We've had some teams that won the division over the past few years that weren't really anything special. I don't really think winning the division means a damn thing if you lose the championship game.

Depends on the program.
I think of LSU's 2006 season as being better than our 2005 season FWIW

That doesn't make sense. Winning the conference gets you a BCS bid.

Depends.
Our 2011 Sugar Bowl appearance > our 2002 & 1995 SECCG appearance.
We went 9-5 in 02 & 8-5 in 1995.
Nothing much to brag about other than we finished middle of the pack in the SEC those years but just happened to win the SEC West.
Where as this past year we finished 2nd overall in the SEC Standings, but also 2nd in our own division and won 10 games.

And finished behind Alabama in the polls, losing at home to us once again.
Sorry I had to.

I'd take Arkansas' place over South Carolina, though.

Personally id take the division crown, for obvious reasons.

Ole Miss would take either. Neither will happen though.

At the end of the regular season, not the entire season. LSU was second overall and in the West after the bowl games which still do count towards standings fwiw.

BCS appearance. Going to ATL and losing is nothing special.
