Does the selection committee go with Alabama or Georgia?

Since they just played a close OT game showing how similiar they are...how can they pick just one. it has to be both or none.

Bama, better conference record beat them twice in a week. How many more times we gotta beat em

Alabama, since we beat them 2-0 and are 6-2 against the east

So hard to choose. But UGA's RPI and SOS are so much better than Bama's I would select UGA if I were on the committee.

If comes down to those 2 and they are deciding between them, I would have to think a 2-0 record head to head would put Bama in.

I don't think it is a dumb question at all.
UGA has the strong RPI component. Bama has the strong conference play component (and 2 wins head to head close to selection Sunday).
If there was only room for one, it would be a close call. I think it would be Bama based on the eye test.
But I think both sneak in as very low seeds.

Lunardi still says Bama is out.

This is a tough one. I know I'm a bammer, but how do you send the team that just lost? I'm not taking anything away from Georgia. That was a hell of a game.

After 2-0 it should be 'Bama. Of course we've seen the committee set logic aside often in the past.

But Alabama has beaten Georgia twice this year. So, if they're only taking one, there's no way they can take UGa over Alabama.

has Lunardi updated his list already?

I think Both will go in. TBH.

If you are choosing between the 2, I don't see how you pick the team that went 0-2 against the other.

stupid question. Georgia no doubt. Let me ask you this...if you only could pick ONE team to make the tourney, would you take colorado or KSU? KSU would be most people's answer, although they lost THREE times to colorado. Head to head doesn't mean everything.
You bammers are so narrow minded it's not even funny. Why are you picking out one single opponent to base your postseason hopes on? You have a bad RPI, a TERRIBLE SOS, have a few BAD losses, and play in the shitty arse SEC west. Georgia has a top 40 SOS, top 40 RPI, almost as many wins, and ZERO bad losses. We both have the same amount of good wins. Why should bama get in over UGA ?

Yes, because it is completely illogical to put more emphasis on the RPI, which takes the whole season into account, than a head-to-head record.
The two teams' chances are not mutually exclusive. They are not picking between the two. They are deciding on the top 64 teams. The head-to-head record should mean nothing.
