quote:

"What I've seen the last five years is a complete turn in the integrity of the college coaching profession," Meyer said. "It's completely turned the other way. Right now, it's not good because the risk-reward is 'have at it, do what you've got to do get the great player, go win games and at the end of the day we'll find out what happens down the road."

quote:

"I actually put one together last year, a recommendation (NCAA rules enforcement suggestions) and sent it to a good chunk of athletic directors and presidents and commissioners," Meyer said. "You can have group committees, group hugs, group discussions, you can have whatever you want, at the end of the day if you enforce the law people will have an opportunity to break that rule less."

quote:

It is quite refreshing to hear the candor from Meyer. He said he is free to speak out about the issues because he is out of the profession, but there are other coaches that agree with him who are unable to come out publically.

quote:

You can't help but think Meyer is alluding to Auburn and Cam Newton and possibly the rule breaking by Lane Kiffin. But the issue is deeper than just those instances.

Meyer was one of the worst negative recruiters in the business. I thought this pussy wanted to spend time with his family? GTFO with this shite.

He won't rat out anyone, but he knows what the frick is going on, just like anyone else that's not naive. The SEC is full of crooks, and it starts at the top with Slive. Slive needs to step up and put this shite to bed, and it wouldn't be an issue. Mix that with the NCAA who's an ultimate joke, and you get rampant cheating in recruiting that goes unpunished.

I don't believe he will. There is no need now. It is clear that he believes that there is way too much cheating going on in recruiting and we are hearing it more and more in FL every year.

The money is too big for the NCAA to really crack down.

We should have paid players that didn't get arrested instead of staying clean and getting trouble children.

If Meyer had shite on Auburn, it would have already been turned over to the NCAA. You can bank on that.

Any Florida fan that thinks Meyer didn't cut some corners of his own is crazy.

You don't recruit as well as Florida did in this league with so much recruiting competition without breaking some rules yourself.

I think that's one of the reasons he got worn down by this league. I think that he is Meyer was a principled man, and then he coached in the SEC and the desire to compete and win games became more important.

I'm glad he retired.

If you get caught cheating... You're not trying hard enough.

LSU is clean because we just cheat better than the rest of you, and then when we do get caught cheating we insert one of our own into lead the NCAA.

That's how we roll

This is the guy who told Jevan Sneed not to worry about Tim Tebow committing because he was going to be a linebacker! And a guy who is famous for telling recruits such and such isn't coming here.

This guy is the biggest sore loser on the planet. He literally has

I have a friend who is a cardiologist in Atlanta and knew the staff that attended to Urban during his Red Foxx moment and the guy effectively has a psychological condition where when stress levels get too high his body will mimic the symptoms of a heart attack.

Remember when we were all kids and all the neighborhood kids or a group from school would gather at someone's house and play Nintendo? There was always that one kid who just couldn't handle losing. He was just uber-competitive and would accuse everyone of cheating. Then he would say the controller was malfunctioning or that someone had opened up the game cartridge and sabotaged the motherboard. Anything, other than admitting someone was just better. Finally he would just flip out, slam the controller down and storm off in a rage.

That kid = Urban Meyer.

If he hadn't quit, he probably would have snapped and run out on the field one day in the middle of the game, grabbed the football and said "I'm going home and I'm taking this ball with me so you guys can't play anymore!"

And I don't know why people are assuming his little whiny attacks are aimed at Auburn. We almost never had any recruiting battles with him (I can't think of a single player that Urban wanted and we got) and we only played against him once. We won the game but they won the National Championship that year.

What coach came into the league five years ago and has NCAA rules implemented because of him. Multiple player attending agent parties and recieving gifts from boosters? Just sayin

Didn't he have the clearing house check into PP7's transcripts, which delayed his enrollment @ LSU, when Peterson declined his offer.

And he got Percy Harvin's girlfriend a gymnastic scholarship before he moved down to G.ville.

Where does this guy get off with his lecturing about coaching integrity?

The FB player arrest record while he was at UF had to be among the 5 worst in the country.

His handling of the Marcus Thomas "indefinite suspension" was the clincher for me. Guy was held out of some meaningless games, only to be miraculously reinstated just in time for the LSU game a few years back.
