I sense a "trade" for a position of need at Ole Miss/State. I'm sure Bama could unload one of their back-up Olinemen, or a player-to-be-named, to make this go away.
Or, if I was a high profile MS player, I'd be very careful crossing the state line.

Another interesting stat would be how many of those 5*, etc become "impact players", justifying their high selection, and contract price.

Agreed. The reason for taking MO & A&M was to give the SEC Network access to HO, DFW & the Midwest (MO). What do Tx & OK bring?

Making a SuperConference just makes it even harder for us to get to the NCG.
Maybe 2 x SEC Conf Champs (like Semi-Champs) with those GUARANTEED to be in the Final 6,8,12, whatever, while still leaving other strong teams a chance to qualify?
